MSI X99A SLI PLUS LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

1 out of 5 eggs It was AMAZING; now we will see how this plays out... 07/09/2016

This review is from: MSI X99A SLI PLUS LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: this board had everyhing i wanted. I was able to pair with a tower and not waste any ports!

I can confirm the following:
I matched 2 32GB kits of Gskill 2400 for 64gb total with no issues
Intel 750 PCIe ssd works fine as a boot drive

Cons: UPDATE- 2016-07-08

Looks like I am joining the legions of people who are experiencing memory failures...
Worked Fantastic for 13 months, then the display got all 800x600 looking and I rebooted and no post no beeps no nothing.
Did typical teardown and tested all components until i finally discovered I could get it to boot with 1 or 2 memory sticks only.
Occasionally the video display reverts to a 800x600 safe mode type look, abut it will function enough to pull all data to secondary machine.
I spoke with MSI and they are going to send me another board, I explained that i use this machine for work (Video editing).
Hopefully this will be a one and done exchange.
I currently have changed to 1 egg (Since I cannot use my computer with any confidence)
I will update after RMA

bit of price jump for the 3.1 usb

x99A vs x99S

Other Thoughts: My first build from scratch.
I did a lot of research and wanted to be as future proof as possible and stay within a reasonable budget for everything (monitors, keyboard, mouse, EVERYTHING)
To help others out, the below combination works 100%
MSI x99 SLI PLUS mobo
I7 5820
32GB + 32GB Gskill DDR4 2400 (yes I mixed 2 32GB kits of exact same ram)
Intel PCI-e 740 400GB SSD
2x Samsun Evo 500GB\
2x 4TB WD Black HDD
LG bluray
1000W corsair psu
Corsair watercooling
Gigabyte G1 970 GTX

I have option of upgrading later or adding another one
