1 out of 5 eggs Good Looking Junk 11/28/2013

This review is from: MartinLogan Mikros 90 Refrence On-Ear Headphones, Black

Pros: Brand Name, looks good

Cons: Headphones (or cable) are defective:
1) Sounds like listening trough the wall with tin can - no lows, no highs, partial midrange frequencies.
2) Frequency range for human voice (300 Hz to 3400 Hz) not audible at all - sounds like karaoke.
3) No channel separation - when trying to adjust the balance, going to the left just flattens overall sound even more, going to the right actually increases frequency range - BUT ALL IN BOTH CHANNELS SIMULTANEOUSLY!!!
4) Volume control doesn't work with i-pod touch 4th gen
Tried them with Zune 1st gen, Onkyo CD Receiver, Marantz CD Player, Marantz Integrated Amp same result.

Other Thoughts: I strongly suspect the cable, but ML 90 design prevented me from trying cables from my Sennheisers - plug simply doesn't fit into extremely narrow opening in the earpiece.Martin Logan could've include regular cable (without i-pod controls) in a package like many other high quality headphones makers do - it could have solve the problem.
