Powerful punch, at a very nice price point
Pros: I have had my 424 for a few weeks now and haven't found any major gripes about it. The CPU/GPU combo are the center point of this machine. I will be adding an SSD to it soon, which will increase the overall performance even more. The OEM 7200RPM drive that it comes with is decent enough that an SSD isn't absolutely necessary. The screen is fantastic with vibrant colors and depth. The backlit keyboard. Complete eye candy, but one of those things that I want on every laptop that I buy from now on. Noise. It's quiet, even when I was running Diablo 3 at full 1080P. There's a "turn your laptop into a freaking jet plane" button along the top bezel that spins the main fan up to like 5000RPM, and it's LOUD, but... 5000RPM. During normal usage it is next to silent. A huge pro to me, is the power, HDMI, are on the back of the laptop.
Cons: Agreed that the webcam is sub-par. It's usable, but should be better. That's the only real con that I have come up with. I haven't torn it apart to install the SSD yet, I'm hoping that's not too much of a pain. Overall : The thing is GORGEOUS and runs like a champ.
Overall Review: It sounds like adam k. got a defective unit, as I have had none of those larger problems. Haven't tried the mic, yet.
To be honest : JUNK.
Pros: Extremely cheap, but for a reason
Cons: My girlfriend and I both have Droids. She has an A855, and I, the A955. I thought that even though the charger is meant for my phone it would at least charger hers. When plugged in, both our phones "freak" out, and the screen becomes hyper sensitive and unusable. Also, the phone does not "recognize" the charge being applied until you restart the phone. For $4, it's still junk. Spend a bit more.
Two failures in less than a year
Pros: I had this in my MSI gaming laptop. I had to RMA it twice and the second time PNY sent me a different model(CL4100). It worked great when it did, but just randomly decided to brick itself.
Cons: Bricks itself randomly twice in under a year.
After 3 years, has pretty much died
Pros: Bought this back in 2010. I used it for about a year, then changed to a different network setup. It worked great for the time that I used it.
Cons: After 3 years, when I plug in my wireless router, something on the switch hoses up the entire network and kills all traffic.
Pros: I've had this iron for at least 2 maybe 3 years now and haven't had a single issue with it. Heats up quick, and I do like the auto power off feature.
Cons: None.
It's... a cable
Pros: Feels sturdy, but flexible. It properly connects my phone to the charger, or my computer. I have yet to test it's time travelling abilities.
Cons: Does not produce gold.
