Everybody has a bad day...
Pros: Newegg's fast delivery.
Cons: Had problems installing Windows 7. Drive failed SMART and died. Fortunately this was a fresh install in a new computer, so no data was lost.
Overall Review: Both Western Digital and Seagate run hot and cold with their quality control. Failures like this don't boost my confidence in a company's product.
Slow router
Pros: Seems stable, fairly easy to configure.
Cons: Slow through put. Not as fast as a netgear model that I replaced. Have a small peer-to-peer network connected to the internet via satellite. Internet through put is what it is with a satellite connect, but network file transfers can be fairly fast, or painfully slow. It seems to depend on the cable length between the router and the computer, but there are no cable runs that exceed 50'. Pretty disappointed with overall network performance. There was no increase in performance with the latest firmware upgrade either.
Overall Review: I should have returned it, but it was working, albeit somewhat slowly on the internal network. It's at a remote site, so I really can't do anything about it now. I hope that there will be a firmware upgrade that will help.
Just OK...
Pros: It works...at least up to this point.
Cons: Slots are upside down. It would be nice to see the activity light on you usb stick. Construction is a little cheesey, would probably be better off buying something a little nicer for front panel reader. Red LED that doesn't go off, even when you shut down the computer...unless you turn of the switch on the psu.
Overall Review: Really...what is up with red led? I've installed better front panel card readers, I should have spent just a little more money. I'd also like to know why the slots are upside down...
