ICY DOCK EZConvert MB882SP-1S-2B 2.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: None. Did not work.

Cons: Motherboard and RAID controller both failed to recognize Intel S3500 SSD. We were going to have 24 SSDs in raid, needed an adapter to fit the 2.5 drives in 3.5 caddies. Thought these would be good. Serious fail.

Edimax EW-7822UAC Wireless AC1200 Dual-band USB 3.0 Adapter, Complies to Draft 802.11ac Standard, Delivers More Than Two Times Faster Wi-Fi Speed Than 802.11n, With Adjustable Foldaway Antenna for Optimum High Performance
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Does get good speeds, generally works well for web browsing and non intensive TCP / web applications / programs. But then again so does every other wireless adapter

Cons: I bought this to pair with my SLI laptop and brand new ASUS RT-AC66U router to run multiple copies of World of Warcraft on my laptop at the same time (multi-boxing). I also got an 802.11ac media bridge from HD, so all my computers in the house could run 802.11ac, and other electronics (like ipods) could run on the lower band 802.11n / g networks.

Things worked well, I got a lot of lag on my laptop running 3 clients. I thought it was just the laptop having trouble handling everything. One day I plugged into the router with a wired connection, as I left this adapter in a drawer, and to my surprise everything ran perfectly.

I tried with a different wireless adapter, and with the HD media bridge, both non-Asus products as well (as the router was ASUS). This adapter is the problem, it just drops A LOT of packets when teamed up with an 802.11ac router, which was causing all the lag. Not it's just a wasted piece of trash in my drawer, waste of money.

Other Thoughts: Paid extra to completely set up a whole 802.11ac network. I already had a wired connection and an 802.11n network, but I trusted that this work work better and faster. Just ended up being a waste of money.

ZOTAC NF750A-A-E AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

1 out of 5 eggs Worst Motherboard I've ever had 05/27/2009

This review is from: ZOTAC NF750A-A-E AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Cheap. NVidia SLI. Can (bearly) run a Phenom II (underpowered).

Cons: Had to flash BIOS to even register Phenom II. Even then, it wouldn't apply enough voltage to the CPU to make it stable (needs 125 Watts, only would show 101 ish watts in the BIOS under CPU Health. Can't overclock at all (impossible to raise CPU multiplier, CPU voltage above 130, I think it is, and if you had memory voltage and CPU voltage both off auto, to try and raise both, POST would hang.

Other Thoughts: I would not buy this product again. I would gladly pay the extra $20-$50 for a different motherboard. I really didn't want to, but after using this board for a couple weeks, I think I will end up RMAing it for another brand.
