TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: I switched over to this after my pci wireless card kept giving me spotty speeds after a year. This was easy to install, with consistently fast speeds every time. I have never seen it drop below a few points here and there and my router is on the other side of the house broadcasting a signal through 3 or more walls. Excellent receiver.

Cons: I wish it was usb 3.0 just because it would be at a more convenient spot on my ports, but thats ok.

Pros: Easy to install, no fuss no muss. Worked great for a long time.

Cons: It DID work really well for over a year. I bought this card in feb of 2012 and as of Oct of this year speeds have been slowly declining. I went from 11mbs to 8 to 7 to 5 to 3 and now to .067. All other wireless devices connect and run top speeds in the house except for this one. So thats pretty crummy for it to just fail like that after awhile and no way to get a fix for it. Its just broken.

Pros: Worked great for a good 10 months or so, easy to setup no problems for that time anyway.

Cons: Not too long ago I started getting lots of random blue screens. Then I couldn't start windows at all. Couldn't re-install windows and now can't even access BIOS. After extensive testing it cam down to the board itself. I was on the phone with Gigabyte tech support for awhile and they didn't seem to want to believe that anything was wrong with it. "Well you can send it in and we'll test it if you want, but I don't think anything is wrong with it. " It came back today after being gone for 2 weeks and it doesn't seem like they did anything to it. No notification of any testing or repair and I'm still having the same errors that I had before but now I can't even access the BIOS. I'm sure I can call them back tomorrow and have it sent back in, but that'll be another amount of $ that I'll have to pony up to send in on my own that may or may not fix anything in the first place, just like last time.
