This review is from: SilverStone SDP08 2 x 2.5" to 3.5" Bay Converter
Pros: Sturdy, screws included, packaged well, good design.
These are nicely made with a heaver steel than others I have used in the past. Screws were also included unlike some others. The packaging is secure and prevents damage from handling/shipping. The 2.5" mounting points are placed so that the connector edge hangs just over the adapter, allowing plugs to be easily and neatly installed with no issues. Buy and make your own SATA power connectors to avoid having to bend the wire very tightly and stress the HD connector.
Cons: Price.... You do get what you pay for, but I didn't think it was *quite* worth $8.
It would have been nice to have a bit more room to get the screws into the HD. I had to use tweezers and a lot of patience to get them in.
Pros: Great design, functionality, speed.
Only one cable for Data and Power.
ODD mode works flawlessly. I installed windows 7 from an image on the drive with no issues.
Cons: Well, price, but it does do a lot so no eggs off for that.
I don't know why they got rid of the eSATA on the new version. I would have liked the additional option especially if it was powered eSATA.
Purchased 4/29/12 - Died on 7/7/12. No idea what happened to it. The screen lights up and displays "ZM-VE300" but nothing I have recognizes it. The HD inside works fine plugged into my MB. -2 Eggs for longevity vs. price....
Sent 2 emails so far to the manufacturer for an RMA and have gotten no response. They don't have an online RMA form so I just had to send a blind email to some address with no confirmation or anything. -2 Eggs
Other Thoughts: I'm glad this was my first Zalman product and not one of their $200+ liquid cooling solutions. At least if I can't get this replaced i'm only out $50.
It's very disappointing when a company comes out with cool useful products like this and then doesn't support them. Shame on Zalman for that....

Pros: Love the modular design.
Cons: The front panel controller is relatively useless to me. I don't really get teh point of it. It doesn't put out sufficient voltage/current to run regular case fans at more than 80% it seems.
It would have been nice to see a better modular ATX MB cable. Maybe something sleeved flat or a little more flexible. It's much longer than needed (for me at least) and difficult to make look nice in the case.
