Solid Choice

EVGA GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 015-P3-1480-KR
EVGA GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 015-P3-1480-KR

Pros: Very solid card. It performs well in all games and it does almost everything I could ask for. EVGA is, from my personal experience, a friendly and helpful company with above average products.

Cons: As others have mentioned this thing gets hot and uses a lot of power. What no one else seems to have mentioned is that this is not actually the best card at this price point. Currently there's an ATI card that performs equally to this card at the same price point at the time of writing this review. The other card uses considerably less power and stays drastically cooler.

Overall Review: When I bought this card the ATI card I'm referring to was much more than this card, but now they're the same price. Either way, I'm glad I bought an EVGA card, I've already sent this in for the step up program and I'm getting a GTX 660ti.

Niche target

Thermaltake Silent 1156 CLP0552 92mm CPU Cooler For Intel Socket LGA1156
Thermaltake Silent 1156 CLP0552 92mm CPU Cooler For Intel Socket LGA1156

Pros: This thing is, as advertised, silent. I've had it for just over 2 years and it has never once made any audible noise. This is the only reason to buy this HSF.

Cons: Doesn't cool my system that well at all, it barely cools better than the stock hsf that came with my CPU.

Overall Review: I bought this particular HSF because at the time of purchase all the other compatible 1156 socket coolers (very few of them were available, the socket was just released) were out of stock. I've had favorable results with Thermaltake in the past and decided to give this HSF a whirl. It didn't have any reviews at the time, and now I wish I had waited and gotten the HSF I really wanted. I whole heartedly recommend the average person avoiding this HSF. Look around, there are a few high quality and cheap HSF's available around this price range.

Theres better

Thermaltake Silent 1156 CLP0552 92mm CPU Cooler For Intel Socket LGA1156
Thermaltake Silent 1156 CLP0552 92mm CPU Cooler For Intel Socket LGA1156

Pros: Relatively cheap. Smaller than my last CPU cooler. Smaller than most good cpu coolers. In fact I have no idea where reviewers thinking this cooler was big came from, novice builders I guess?

Cons: Only 4 heat pipes produce sub par results. In this same price category there are better coolers. Running my cpu at a meager OC (for a 750), going from 2.67 to 3.2 and my idle temps went from low to mid 30's to low 50's. There are competitively priced coolers that do a better job.

Overall Review: My good friend has an AC cooler with the exact same setup (Case CPU and Mobo) as myself he's got his OC'd to 3.6 and runs a few degrees cooler.

Replacement board

GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD2 LGA 1156 Intel P55 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD2 LGA 1156 Intel P55 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: This board has an amazing layout. It has a lot of features and is fairly cheap. See other thoughts about layout.

Cons: No real cons as of yet. If anything goes wrong I'll come back and post.

Overall Review: I bought this as a replacement board for my i5 750, replacing an Asus board. On the other board I couldn't fit all 3 of my hdd's into my case because the video card was positioned in the way of everything. Gigabyte has a much more intelligent board design going on here. One last note, before the Asus board I had another Gigabyte and it was an ugly board, thank you Gigabyte for coordinating the colors on this one.

Never Been So Mad

ASUS P7H55D-M EVO LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P7H55D-M EVO LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: All the features of this board for the price. I give this a 2 egg for my bad luck, and to partially vent. Asus really made me angry with this one.

Cons: The terrible quality of this board is astounding. At least for the one I got.

Overall Review: I get my board and all my other new computer parts, and put them in. Not all too surprisingly, the mix of 3 hd's and my gtx275 did not fit. I took the smallest hd out of my case and when I uplugged the corresponding sata cable, the plug came off of the motherboard. Some of the pins were still sticking up, but the plastic connector had come off. I waited 3 or so days to write this so I would be calm. Trust me I was plenty mad. I'm still entirely unsatisfied and it's going to take a miracle for Asus to redeem itself in my eyes. The board doesn't work if you were wondering. I put the connector back on and now upon startup I get no video output. The fan on the video card is spinning and everything seems to be working but the dram light is constantly red.

Sounds Great

ASUS P7H55D-M EVO LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: These are obvious. It has a bunch of nice features at a good price.

Cons: The reason there are all these nice features at a good price is due to low quality of construction. My pc boots up but no video on screen, everything seems to be working, the video card fan is spinning, I have no idea what the problem is. The worst thing is one of my sata ports came the hell off. WHAT ON EARTH!!! I can't begin to tell you how mad I am at Asus right now. I used to trust them. Not anymore.

Overall Review: I'm going to try and RMA this trainwreck of a board that passed asus's quality control. If I get another one this bad, I'll never even consider another Asus product.
