Great for DirectX9
Pros: High frame rate for DirectX9 games at high resolution. DirectX10 beware. Don't expect this card to power your DirectX10 games at high resolution at a playable frame rate. Newegg shipped it on the same day order.
Cons: Chip's temperature is high. Riva Tuner report chip's temperature at 70 degree C while room temperature at 18 degree C. Let just hope that I don't have to leave my case open for playing game in the summer
Overall Review: Great buying for gamers with limiting budget. DirectX10 gaming might want to look for SLI in the future.
Unstable and artifact
Pros: I expected this card to perform well under Vista and XP. The quality is great if it's working.
Cons: This card causes Vista to reboot (memory fault error) every single time while updating the system score.
Overall Review: I bought this card for HTPC running Vista. Card works good but unstable and Avivio is dissappointing. I swapped it out with EVGA7600GT and all is good fine now. the EVGA7600GT can handle video up to 720p with hardward assisted decoding.
Great for DX9 but not too great with DX10
Pros: Great performing for most DX9 games. I was able to run Crysis smoothly at 30fps with everything turn on High setting together with my Duo 3.0GHz CPU. Upgraded from BFG 7800GT OC. Speed gain is more than 50%. Shipped with latest BIOS (with auto fan sensing increased). Overclockable further than manufacture spec. Mine is overclockable up to 700/1000.
Cons: No practical FPS gains in games with further clocking. However, 3DMark06 shows a small percentage increases corresponding to the clocking setting via Riva tuner v2.06. Company of Heroes drop belows 30fps in DX10 setting with every turn high and shodows off and antialiasing off. Noise level is much quieter comparing to 7800GT series. Heat can be a potential issue in the summer. Ambient temperature is 65 and the chip is at 70+ degree. Summer temperature climbs up to 100-> chip temperature will be....you do the math. So far artifact only occurs at 80+ temperature with manufacture clock/memory speed setting.
Overall Review: The 8800GT is a major update for gamers who don't want to spend $500 for the GTX rival. I have no regret upgrading from 7800GT. Very disappointing performing for DirectX10 games. It defeats my whole purpose for upgrading for directx10 gaming. Hope future driver revision will improve DX10 performance. I bought and returned an ATI 3850 card from Fry electronic for this card. The performing difference between the two is small. Not sure the price gap justify the performing or not. The review is based on my setting Vista SP1RC1 Beta driver: 169.x.x.x.02 Duo Core 3.02GHz 2GB of RAM
Cannon PowerShot A400
Comments: Great camera for its low pricing. Pictures taken from this camera look dull, lack of sharpness. It's ok for an occasion use. Great shipping speed.
