Fixed an FX-8120 CPU/Radeon 6850 just by upgrading to this PSU
Pros: I spent over a year trying to diagnose major issues with an HD Radeon 6850 and an FX-8120 CPU. This power supply solved those issues immediately! The computer is running and sounding like a different machine.
Cons: None yet.
Overall Review: If you have an FX CPU I highly recommend this PSU. Not even a bronze was strong enough to alleviate the issues mine was having. Now my son is deeply immersed in Steam and having a blast playing the games he bought but couldn't even load. I was sure I heard the CPU sigh with relief when I turned it on for the first time. ;)
Don't buy if you game
Pros: It turns on and runs. Fine for checking email, word processing, basic computing, low end gaming (but not even Farmville runs right).
Cons: I spent over a year trying to diagnose issues with an HD Radeon 6850 and got nowhere. The card repeatedly crashing and recovering, or just outright giving up. I could never fully determine if the fault was with the card or the CPU (FX-8120). I had many very tech savy people (including featuring the problem on CodeCall) try to help with it, to no avail. Last night I took this PSU out and replaced it with an 80 plus Platinum certified model. The difference was astounding, and the graphics card and CPU are working (except for Minecraft - Java issue, but we have Windows 8 and I read Notch wasn't in a hurry to fix that). My son is now playing Natural Selection 2. Before the change he couldn't even watch Youtube without the threat of crashing.
Overall Review: I am not saying this is a bad PSU, it just isn't any good for gamers or anyone needing to use a lot of resources. I gave it 3 eggs because if I was using it for everyday stuff like checking email and word processing it would have been ok. However, the information on how it will run crossfire, etc is misleading. If it can't run a single HD Radeon 6850, how will it run 2? If you have an FX CPU... Do not buy this power supply.
Nothing but trouble
Pros: I will tell you if I can get it to work.
Cons: Nothing but trouble with this card. It is great if you don't want to do anything. Try playing a game and it goes to black screen and the computer has to be reset.....not great for the computer. The odd time it will fail and recover, but then it freezes. I have tried absolutely everything I can and nothing works. I paid almost $200 for it (not from Newegg) and can't use it. Very unhappy!
Overall Review: Sapphire needs to address this issue. I am finding hundreds of people with the same exact problems I am having. Google Radeon HD 6850 Black screen. That only brings up some of the people experiencing this.
Never had a problem
Pros: I love this keyboard. I am not sure why some people are having issues with it. I have never had a problem, and I am using it with Windows 7 Professional. I am a graphics artist and in school for programming. The backlight is nice, not bright and distracting like the ones that light the entire keyboard, including between keys. I am able to work at night in dim to no lighting, a definite plus!
Cons: The keys are a bit noisy after a lot of use, and the keys I use the most now have big dots instead of actual letters.
Overall Review: I have had a lot of issues with Windows drivers overwriting proprietary drivers and conflicting with everything from wireless N usb sticks, to a brand new high end video card. To those having trouble, make sure Windows is not set to overwrite your Razor drivers.
