Pros: Bright display, great picture quality, large viewing angle, easy settings adjustment, low latency.
Cons: Speakers are pretty weak. The stand takes up quite a large amount of room.
Other Thoughts: While I did not buy this through Newegg, I have purchased two of these monitors and use them as dual monitors. Compared to other monitors I've seen in this price area, I must say I'm pretty impressed with these. I show people stuff on my screens a lot so I needed something with a large viewing angle. This monitor does not get distorted looking at it from an angle but past about 45 degrees I would say it gets a small bit of a red tinge to it. The matte finish doesn't reflect too much. Blacks are fairly black and the backlight isn't very noticeable on dark screens as long as the brightness isn't extremely high.
The speakers themselves don't get very loud at all. At both 100% Windows volume and monitor volume, it's audible but not much more. They do sound fairly clear but unless the room you are in is silent, you're going to need something more powerful.
The stand the monitor sits on is fairly awkward in its shape. From front to back it takes up 8 1/4 inches while my wife's monitor which has the exact same dimensions as this one is only 6 1/2 inches from front to back. Those nearly two inches do make a bit of difference on a desk. The monitor itself can be tilted a bit but the height cannot be adjusted.
If it wasn't for the fact I don't use the internal speakers in my setup, I would probably rate this 4 eggs. But since that isn't too much of an issue, I'd more rate it 4.5 eggs due to the weird stand. As that is also more of a personal preference, I did round this up rather than down.
-Handles everything I've thrown at it
-Good support from G.Skill
Cons: -First set went bad after 3 months
Other Thoughts: I bought this RAM in March of 2014. I had to manually change in the BIOS settings to have it run at 1866 but that was to be expected and wasn't an issue at all. In June or July of 2014 I started having random blue screens while web browsing so I tested the RAM and it immediately failed Memtest with a ton of errors. After some more testing, I determined one of the two sticks was bad so I contacted G.Skill support with what was going on and what I did to determine which stick was bad. They got back to me within a day or two with instructions for RMA. I sent it in and got a new set back within two weeks (all but a business day of that was shipping time). The new set I have had no issues with whatsoever. Due to the easy RMA process and how happy I've been with the RAM, I would definitely recommend this RAM.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: StarTech HDMIDVIMF HDMI to DVI-D Video Cable Adapter
Pros: Good quality
Cons: A little heavy for its size
Other Thoughts: I did not buy this through Newegg but I wanted to post a review to help people decide if this is what they are looking for.
This is taking a DVI-D cable and giving it the ability to plug it into an HDMI port. This worked flawlessly for me. I have two monitors that both only have HDMI and VGA capability but my video card has only one HDMI port and two DVI ports. One of my connections is HDMI to HDMI while the other one (thanks to this) is DVI to HDMI. I configured both monitors to the same settings and put the same background on both, and there is absolutely no difference in color or resolution (1920X1080) between the two.
If any connection is really close to the HDMI port you plan to plug this into, it will most likely block that connection so keep that in mind before buying this.
About audio capability: I've seen plenty of reviews for products like this complaining that they don't do audio. The reason for that is DVI is not meant to do audio in the first place, and adding an adapter to make it fit into an HDMI port does not magically add audio.
