Pros: Great color
great price for the quality you get
extremely good edge to edge
Cons: none for the price
Other Thoughts: have a post production company and own NEC and a few other brands
this is not a gaming monitor but a color accurate monitor ?
get the SV kit to get the most out of this monitor !
to the guy who says uneducated Americans and buy Eizo ?
typical of someone who buys more expensive and believes its better or pompous euro ?
remember the Eizo 27 is also a IPS panel same as this one so very obvious the guy was not a owner of this monitor or would know this ! they look the same when side by side meaning the fidelity of the screen not the case !
so Eizo lover next time know your facts before you say things that expose your ignorance and post up what Eizo you own instead
the Eizo CG are very good monitors but are not better or worse both are a great choice
they are more money and some people must feel when they spend more find out they have something thats not better have this issue to bash the other stuff ? sad realy

Cons: price is high for what you get ? but oh well what are you going to do
Other Thoughts: SO FAR its good if it holds up cant see why it wont ? so its new but did testing since I kept hearing it helps ? but nobody really had info on HOW much it helped

5 bay over 4 bay for a raid 5 this is nice
build quality is decent
worked for me set the dip switches installed the HDs it came up as raid 5
the racks are a bit chintzy but for the price about what I expected
again the NOISE if you are not going to replace the fans expect this thing to drive you NUTS
Other Thoughts: its so loud !!!! thats the problem
we are talking almost as loud as the old Mac G5 durring take off mode ;)
so going to replace the fans with some silent ones and see how that goes ?
they are the thin type 80mm fans so I might mount the new ones outside the case
I will wait to see how the power supply sounds ? if its loud will get some small super silent 40mm or just jump and use my old thermaltake heatpipe supply from my now dead HTPC
the new J unit is the one with the raid 5
with my cheap 2 port card that came with my 5 bay sans digital using kona to test with 5 WD 750 drives I was getting about 110 write and about the same read so decent enough speed for our archive drives
I might also pick up a firmtek 4 port card if I do will run some speed tests and post back the card is the limiting factor at this point
so if looking for a decent enough cheap 5 bay raid 5 setup this might do the job time will tell ?
4 stars for price and performance and works like it shoul
