This review is from: SanDisk Extreme SDSSDX-120G-G25 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Pros: tested seq 220mb read and 120mb write
after my first replacement my SSD is still strong 1 year later
i had it at 90% (100gb of 111gb)capacity and i would say still 80%-90% of those speeds
blazing installs and un-installs
Cons: the first one i got was bad, clusters were getting lost (still worked though amazingly) symptom was random restarts
I blame packaging/shipping/handling
everyone should know an SSD is very fragile equipment!!!!
you will find many people complaining of DoA (not just sandisk)but i would say at least 50% of that is just bad shipping and handling
after 90% full system was getting unstable(but it could be software as i have lots of games) only noticed this after installing Alliance of valiant arms (great game) thats when i crossed 90% full
Other Thoughts: ***I am doing a review on a SanDisk Ultra SDSSDH-120G-G25 2.5" 120GB SATA which should be the model with Sata II ***
as its the same size and brand thought people would want to know how the slower version is still holding up
Pros: Runs great, Runs cool, WOW FPS in Dalaran was(I quit) 30-60 fps depending on how crowded it was(some settings in WoW will bog down your fps). Also as its a single core gpu no driver issues with WoW! Fan is set at Auto when i play WoW its around 30-35% at around 65C. Realy Depends on room temperature and your case. I am running it OC!!! So there is some extra temperature gains just there. I would say +5C to +10C in Overclocking it.
Cons: Not sure if its a con or not but apparently alot of these do it, when you boot up system the fan does a "fan check" and it boosts the fan to i say 80% fan speed and after 1 to 3 seconds it goes to normal. I could careless its for a meer 1 to 3 seconds at start up.
FYI: If you want to overclock GPU mhz past 970 you will experience screen tearing, i realy noticed it when i went past that and it depends on system. The memory overclocking i got safely to 1150 never went past it. My bro has fancier case he is running the Gpu 950 mhz and memory at 1100mhz for past 2 months.
Other Thoughts: I am OC, GPU Clock of 950 mhz and 1050 mhz memory. Had it higher ( 970 gpu and 1150 memory) but just increased temps and as you all know the cooler things run, the longer they last!!
One more thought why buy the HIS OC version for $30+ if you can do it yourself for free and get same results?
