This review is from: LINKSYS PLEK500 Powerline HomePlug AV2 1 Port Gigabit Ethernet Kit
Pros: Super easy setup. It really couldn't get any simpler. Plug into wall and either hook it up to your router and your pc. Easy as that. Instantly recognized the other adapter in a couple rooms away.
Cons: Far below advertised speeds. I have the Linksys WMP600N on the same PC and my speeds have always been good but living in an apartment building it is starting to get cluttered with everyone having a wireless router. I wanted to try these out to see if I could get both stability and speed without having to rely on my wireless card. While my wireless card can cap out around 75 mbps across my personal network these powerline adapters could only manage 30 mbps at their best. I tried changing outlets and setting them up again but no luck. My average speed was around 15 mbps. I suppose if you are desperate and have no other option these may work but for the 100 dollar price tag I think they aren't worth it. I will be returning these as soon as possible.
Other Thoughts: These may work in a brand new apartment or in a new house but in my apartment I had absolutely no luck getting what I would call "good speeds for the money".READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: These two sticks replaced a single 4GB dimm in my new Lenovo laptop and wow what a difference. There is no comparison between before and after with this RAM. Windows 8 is a little less horrible after the upgrade. I have ordered multiple sticks of RAM from G.SKILL and this is no different. It is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone.
Cons: None so far!
Other Thoughts: Newegg rocks! The DHL shipping is very slow. I know it's free but I don't plan on using Eggsaver shipping unless I don't care how long it takes. It arrived safely it just took far too long.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Great screen. Very solidly built. Heavy but not overly so. The i5 is very fast and the NVIDIA graphics card does quite well. I bought this to replace a four year old Acer laptop and I am pleased with my purchase. At $549 the price was perfect for this laptop.
Cons: The keyboard isn't great. The keys fell sturdy and its a full keyboard with the numerical pad. However the keys themselves aren't that big. My Acer had much larger keys in terms of surface area. If you have small hands this won't matter. I however have big hands and fingers so a little larger key is very nice for me. Only having 4GB of RAM isn't adequate. I ordered an upgrade for 8GB soon after purchasing this laptop and I think that's a safe move for everyone especially with Windows 8. Speaking of Windows 8... It sucks. I have used nearly every version of Windows with the exception of Windows ME and I have to say Windows 8 is bad. I get the idea of the tiles and switching but I feel it works better with a touchscreen and not with the traditional laptop such as this.
