2 out of 5 eggs RAIDMAX RX-635AP 635W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply 10/19/2014

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-635AP 635W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Raidmax RX-635AP Power Supply

Pros: Cheap, Modular.

Cons: The PSU seems to give off a lot of electrical interference which is picked up by my speakers in the form of a buzzing sound. The further I move the speaker wire away from the PSU I can eliminate the buzzing. The PSU is not stable at higher watts/load. Running an i5 4670K, GTX 970, 8 GB PC 1866, SSD, HDD, DVD, H60, 4 Case fans, really seems to push the PSU. Under load my 12V rail is really unstable, the lowest I've witnessed it drop was 11.702. I'm running a mild overclock at 4GHZ, but the CPU is requiring 1.265 Volts to be stable, I suspect its due to unstable power levels. I am replacing this PSU with a Corsair CS650M.

Pros: Works very well with my i5 4670K. Everything has been flawless on it, booted up without issues the first time. No blue screens or crashes. Lots of 3 pin mobo fan connectors. Bios is rich with options for overclocking.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It seems the last few reviewers have had a string of bad luck with the boards. I have had zero issues, its been a great board.

Pros: Its amazing compared to an old HD. I installed this with my Intel i5 and 8GB of memory, when booting my PC the windows loading screen doesnt even finish the animation before its loaded. Great value for the price.

Cons: None
