This review is from: NEC Display Solutions LCD1770NX-BK Black 17" 5ms LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 600:1
Pros: It works, and was somewhat cheap. Height adjustable stand is nice.
Cons: It came in a box with foam bits under each end of the monitor. Except that the monitor had fallen out of one of the bits, so the monitor had been bouncing & banging around for who knows how long. In spite of this, there was no visible damage, and the monitor works. Sadly, the color is very, very poor, even after adjustment.
Other Thoughts: Overall, I'm disappointed I bought this, even as cheap as it is, and assuming it'll keep working for a while. Ignoring the packing, just the size and color, I would probably give $20 tops for this screen. I bought it for a friend who needed a monitor as cheap as possible, but I'm almost ashamed to pass it along.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Low price, lightscribe
Cons: Lightscribe quit working properly after 1-1.5 years of light use. It would burn most of a label, but skip areas, leaving smeary looking gaps.
The drive quit after about 2 years of light use. It would still open and spin, but not recognize disks anymore.
This review is from: Toshiba Upscaling DVD Player With HDMI - SDK1000KU
Pros: Low price, HDMI out, it works.
Cons: Not Blu-ray
Other Thoughts: A new large flatscreen TV necessitated some changes in our home theater setup, and left me with no way to hook up my old DVD player that lacked HDMI output. This was a cheap way to fix that. I could've put the money toward a Blu-ray player, but I currently don't own any.READ FULL REVIEW
