would recommend
Pros: -non-conductive -works very well with my katana 2 hsf on amd cpu - temps lower than last 2 paste i have used(stock, and some ceramic stuff from radio shack) -good amount in tube
Cons: -just a little on the thick side(this could be a plus because it will not drip/run) -i would recommend doing the rice grain thing because its tricky to spread
Overall Review: i have noticed while you dont need burn in time you do need to give this time to spread over your cpu(what i did was applied it and took a picture of the amount before i installed the heat sink, then after a week i went back to see if it covered the entire cpu.... i ended up needing about a rice grain and 1/2 - i also put this on my video card and it took the temp of the core down about 6 degrees C
Good buy
Pros: Im happy with this drive. I got it when it first came out a few years ago and have always been happy with the speed. not exacty blown away but i never really have to wait for my files to transfer from A to B (files are normaly a few hundred mb photoshop docs). Capacity is what it is. Physical size of the drive is just right i dont have to spend all day trying to find this in my pocket.
Cons: half the price i bought it for a year or two ago. lanyard is thin but at least its free and surprisingly durable still hanging. NOT REALLY A CON BUT: the case isnt what i expected it to be. its basically just an average clam shell design with a rubber sleeve but its lasted all this time so its hard to trash talk it.
Overall Review: when you get this thing in your hands you can tell this isnt just another flash drive. At Kinko's the girls printing my stuff were very impressed with the flash drive... Pro tip: stick the cap on the stub that the lanyard attaches to so you dont lose it.
Pros: lots of space for the price... Ended up putting 2 in a raid 1 and booting off of that it takes windows half the time to load as it did with my old 7200.11 500gig seagate (takes like 15-20 seconds to get to my windows 7 desktop). very solid drives. Cant help but feel like I'm cheating on seagate but these drives fit the bill
Cons: ordered 2 of these the top of one is shiny while the other has more of a matte finish... because mine are in a raid 1 (mirrored drives) and they, for the most part, read and right at the same time they are a little on the loud side these still only score 5.9 on the windows 7 performance index. i was hoping for more but will have live with it for now as im not yet ready to jump on the ssd cart just yet
Overall Review: I thought i could just put these in raid 0 and boot off of that. Turns out that a boot partition over 2Tb does not fly with current tech. I knew about this being a problem with single drives but did not think it would be a problem with raid configurations over 2Tb. if your going to be using a raid setup for your os go with smaller drives (1Tb and under) so you can use all the space you payed for. i think what i might do down the road is buy one more of these and turn my raid one into a raid 5 setup for storage then get two faster 1Tb drives for raid 0 to boot from
Pros: - good airflow - only one slot(some people might say this is a con but i think more than one slot is too much for this type of fan ) - not that loud( i use a fan controller, works well with this) - keeps pc cool when gaming - chrome grill on back is nice - had this for about 3 - 4 months and has no dust in it(cpu hsf does (have had it only about 2 months longer))
Cons: - you can hear it when its on but it really isn't that loud
Overall Review: i got this at a store on sale for about $3.50 but i think this could be worth as much as 10 or 12 bucks with the amount of good it does......this fan intakes air from the bottom but you can flip it over to intake from the top
Pros: Not much to say other than it works..... my games run a little smother now with three gigs of ram (before i had 1.5 gig) switching users in xp takes no time at all and booting ubuntu 64 bit is faster
Cons: i cant think of any
Overall Review: install was a breeze on my Compaq just popped off the plate and stuck it in.... oh and i forgot to say that games also load faster
great hsf
Pros: - very smooth/shiny base - many fins - very quiet (can hear hdd for the first time) - cheap - well built - can be mounted in four directions - looks cool - in the manual it says you can mount any size fan up to 120mm so long as it is 25mm thick
Cons: i don't know how good the thermal paste is that came with this HSF is... never put it on (i ordered ocz freeze off of newegg)
Overall Review: wow this is the best bang for buck out there.... at the moment i have this on a 65 watt CPU with a $8 coolermaster hsf that was around 50*c before being lapped and 46 after (in low 60's while gaming) the katana 2 took it down to an idle of 30*C and about 32* under load. In about two weeks im going to have this cooling a 125 watt phenom
