This review is from: Olympus PEN E-PL3 Black 12.3MP Digital Camera with 14-42mm Lens
Pros: This was a 700 dollar camera two years ago. It takes much better pictures than point a shoot in the current price range. 12 megapixels is fine unless you want to cover a wall with your picture or only want a small part of it. The quality is really nice.
Cons: You do get a flash with the camera, but you can't use it with the optional viewfinder, which costs what you paid for the camera, same for getting a fixed lens, although the lens it has takes great pictures.
Other Thoughts: There are cases available for around 14 dollars which are really nice, some have a handgrip built in.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Nikon COOLPIX S3100 Silver 14.0 MP 5X Optical Zoom Digital Camera
Pros: I upgraded to this from a 4MP camera and WOW - what a difference. I use it to document model airplane builds and take pictures outdoors. I took a picture of a boat house on the river and it is so nice I am thinking of getting it enlarged and framed. It charges when you download pictures and so far it has never needed more chage time.
Cons: Sometimes in indoor lighting the pictures look yellow, but there is a white balance feature where you can set it by pointing a white object and telling the camera that is white. It should be emphasised more. My daughter didn't like the camera until I showed her that feature.
Other Thoughts: I paid about $109 for the camera and at $75 it is a steal.READ FULL REVIEW
