Not as good as others

DELL Laptop Inspiron AMD Athlon II P360 4GB Memory 320GB HDD ATI Radeon HD 4250 15.6" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit M5030 (iM5030-2800B3D)
DELL Laptop Inspiron AMD Athlon II P360 4GB Memory 320GB HDD ATI Radeon HD 4250 15.6" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit M5030 (iM5030-2800B3D)

Pros: None really.

Cons: This laptop is about twice as thick and heavy as your average laptop. It gets hot on the bottom and is made very cheaply. Even replacing the screen is difficult. At 15.6" it should have a full keyboard but Dell decided not to put one in.

Overall Review: Dell also has a hinge problem. After about two years the hinges start to come loose and the LCD cover ends up cracking and causes more problems. Also, the mouse buttons will probably have to be replaced every two years.

Not so good

ASUS Laptop Intel Core i5-460M 4GB Memory 640GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 15.6" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit U52F-BBL9
ASUS Laptop Intel Core i5-460M 4GB Memory 640GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 15.6" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit U52F-BBL9

Pros: The rubberized case is a plus. This one came with an LG LED screen which is the best screen you can get. It's very bright and has very good contrast and color saturation. The keyboard and Touchpad are very good.

Cons: Unknown USB Device in device manager.

Overall Review: Everything arrived in perfect condition. There were no scratches anywhere on the laptop. The only problem is as soon as I turned it on and booted into windows I got a "USB Device Not Recognized" message. No driver fixed the problem. So I reloaded windows which didn't fix the problem. The weird thing is that EVERYTHING appears to work. All the USB ports, webcam, and card reader all work but it stills gives the USB Device Not Recognized at every boot until I disable it in Device Manager. Another thing, do NOT try and update the BIOS in this machine. The BIOS on the Asus website is NOT the correct one and you will end up with a brick.
