GIGABYTE M6800 GM-M6800 Noble Black 4 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 1600 dpi Gaming Mouse
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Worked fine for two weeks

Cons: Failed after two weeks while playing League of Legends

Other Thoughts: Mouse worked find, I had a G9 Mouse before but the cord failed after 3.1 years. Bought this one because it was inexpensive to hold me over until I could justify buying a new premium mouse. Stupid think didn't even last two weeks. I was so angry I got more satisfaction smashing the stupid thing with a hammer than having it replaced. Absolute garbage. I'm sorry I bought one for the machine I built for my brother. I hope he doesn't hate me for it.

5 out of 5 eggs Very Happy / Linux Support 11/04/2011

This review is from: Samsung ML Series ML-3312ND Workgroup Up to 33 ppm Monochrome Laser Printer

Pros: Works with linux with great drivers from samsung, just remember you have to log in as root to install them. I love the fact I can leave envelopes in the multi-purpose tray. Duplex printing and network interface.... wow this is a steal of a printer!

Cons: None found yet, toner cartridge looks a little wimpy but I'll see...

ASUS Eee PC 1000 40G – Pearl White NetBook Intel Atom 10.0

Pros: SSD is great, slower than a HDD but if it's in rough or clumsy hands, can't beat it. Screen is very nice as well as the integrated web cam, my sister in Japan commented my image looked better than it did on my laptop. Battery life is as promised in my case.

Cons: Included distro of Linux is awful. Some thing didn't work at all, other things did not work as they should, and other thing it just refused to let you do. Can't install wine (or even I couldn't get it to function properly, got it installed just couldn't get it to work. My OS would try to open a file when I tried to access file properties.

Other Thoughts: They tried to hard to make it idiot proof and just ended up making it useless. So I did some reading and found eeebuntu. Now I love this thing! Everthing is working as it should. Google earth is being slow, but Wine is working and the windows programs I need run fine too. Plus there is a huge library of free software that you have access to, just put on a desktop astronomy program I found in the education section. :) This little machine is fun :) Would have gave this netbook 5 stars if it came with eeebuntu by default. I've heard easy peasy is a good OS choice too for this machine.
