Intel BOXDP55KG LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

5 out of 5 eggs Nice MB, read the e-manuals before building 09/07/2010

This review is from: Intel BOXDP55KG LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: This has been a very good board for my latest build. Intel has very good documentation for this board on their website and I would reco to download those documents and read them before purchasing / building, they provide good information on tested memory, power requirements, components, etc. This board posted for me on my first attempt and installing Windows 7 64 went smooth. Needed to update the LAN drivers to get internet connectivity.

Cons: CPU fan and memory slots are VERY close together, but workable.

Other Thoughts: This is a nice board and I suggest reading the Intel documentation online prior to purchase / build in order to get the components that will work best with it.

4 out of 5 eggs Good cooling, quiet, a bit tricky installation 08/31/2010

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: This fan is very quiet and does a nice job at cooling.

Cons: The installation is a bit tricky.

Other Thoughts: I needed to use a small screw driver to push the light-colored plugs down through the fan and motherboard before inserting the dark-colored pins into the plugs. Once I did that, the fan feels like it is firmly in place.

Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

5 out of 5 eggs Very Nice Case 08/27/2010

This review is from: Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Nice, sturdy case. Built with good quality. Easy to work with. Prompt tech support from Antec if needed.

Cons: A bit tight to work in, however that's the nature of a mid-tower and not unique to this case.

Other Thoughts: This is a very nice case. It has excellent air-flow with the standard and optional fans in place. It was very easy to work with and has a nice compartment on one side to hide the wiring. The included fans are of good quality. I e-mailed Antec tech support about purchasing additional air filters and they responded very quickly. The case has a SSD drive spot on the bottom of it.
