This review is from: SMC SMCFS801P NA Unmanaged 8 Port Switch with 8 PoE
Pros: I've had this switch for almost 2 years powering 6 cameras and no issues at all.
Very solid all-metal construction, this switch definitely won't move around under the weight of the cables plugged into it.
Internal power supply is another great feature, no annoying power adapter adding to cable clutter
Cons: I wish it had keyhole slots on the bottom for wall mounting, but at least you can rotate the rack-brackets and use those to wall-mount the unit
Other Thoughts: Supports 802.3at PoE+
105w total PoE power budget
Includes rack mounting brackets
This review is from: CABLESTOGO 29508 Cablestogo 29508 4-port aluminum usb hub
Pros: I've had this for 4 or 5 years and it's held up well.
The USB ports seem to be very durable- I've plugged and unplugged different devices probably thousands of times over the years and the ports still grip well and make a good connection.
The included mounting bracket is a great touch, its the main reason I initially chose this unit. Great for mounting on or under a desk/shelf/etc for a cleaner and more permanent installation.
Also includes an AC adapter (needed if you plan on connecting high-power devices such as USB-powered hard drives)
Cons: I wish the blue LED was not so blindingly bright...
Other Thoughts: Its mounted under my desk and has been used with many different devices and have never had any issues. I've recommended this hub to many people over the years.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: FAST, even at the outer edge of the disk, excellent seek times due to the tiny platters and high RPMs
Cons: availability issues recently
Other Thoughts: To work around the SQL Server sector size issue you could create a .vhd file with 512b sector size, mount it, and put your db files on this mounted 512b 'virtual disk'
Check out the syntax for the 'New-VHD' powershell cmdlet, I think you might need to install Hyper-V to get this tool though, not sure...but I know it works
