Pros: Stable connection, fast throughput and extremely easy installation.
Cons: None with this particular set!
Other Thoughts: When i originally bought this product in August, one of the units managed to give up the ghost less than 12 hours after installation. This lack of durability prompted my first review that got the device only 2 stars.
After a RMA process, which was as painless as it gets once you get over the fact that you'll have to cover the shipping costs back, the replacement unit that arrived has been performing in an exemplary fashion.
I use the kit to extend my network to the other side of my house, and the adapters are the only way to access the NAS that's located on the far end of the house. Even though I pass a lot of data through those adapters daily, the connection has been fast and most importantly, rock solid.
Don't misunderstand me, the connection is not as fast as a direct gigabit ethernet link, not even close, but it is much faster than the old wireless bridge, using two DD-WRT routers, that was in place before I bought this kit, and as an added bonus, it saved me from having to drill and run cable through the house, which is worth it's weight in gold alone!
To be perfectly honest, I didn't even think of writing a follow up review mostly because the units have been working so seamlessly that I've forgotten about them entirely. They've been no problems stemming from or relating to the units and I'm very happy with the product!
Pros: Excellent full size keyboard, pretty solid feeling build quality and after a little over two weeks of use, no issues to report. The easily removable keys are a definite plus as they make cleaning the keyboard a cinch!
Cons: Only one tiny problem with this keyboard is the lack of full backlighting, however, this is not a deal breaker, it would just be nice to have full backlighting on the keyboard, rather than just the left hand side of the keyboard.
Other Thoughts: Overall, great keyboard. I've been pleasantly surprised as the MX Cherry Brown switches were not my first choice as this keyboard was to be used primarily for typing. I do have a keyboard with MX Cherry Blue switches that i prefer for typing, but it is too loud for an office environment.
That's not to say that the MX Cherry Browns are the essence of quiet, but there's a lot less clacking and clicking as a result of typing away...
Pros: When it worked, it worked great. The connection is stable, and strong. Throughput is pretty good. A lot better than a wireless bridge anyway.
Cons: One of the units died less than 12 hours after installation. Just died. No amount of attempting to restart it, reset it or even plug it into another outlet seems to be able to rouse it.
Other Thoughts: The power line adapter gets 2 stars because of the very short time it worked. While it worked, it was solid and stable, but to pay for a product and have it die within 12 hours, that is absolutely unacceptable.
I have submitted a RMA for it and we will see if it's replacement will perform the same, or if it will last longer than 12 hours. BTW, part of the reason the rating for this product is so low is also the fact that RMA shipping is not covered. The least that could be done is make the RMA process as painless on my wallet as possible. Why am I expected to pay return shipping for a defective item? I certainly didn't choose to buy a product with the express purpose of it dying on me in under 12 hours!
Additionally, I was considering buying another kit, and further expanding my network using powerline adapters, but now, I have reservations. I'm hoping I won't have to RMA the replacement units as well.
