Not bad, ACER
Pros: SPEED -- I ran Passmark and scored almost 5000 in CPU tests without overclock. Wifi -- Much stronger than anyone else's at work :) and bluetooth is a bonus (although does not work with PS3 controller like my desktop bluetooth does) PRICE -- I dare you to find a laptop under $800 that can play Farcry 3 on the same settings with better frame rates!
Cons: Not a fan of the keyboard because of the size of the arrow keys and the tactile response isn't as good as other brands, but I won't dock an egg for it. The screen has to be angled just right to see it perfectly, so not great for sharing a movie with someone much shorter than you, but that's pretty common on most all laptops. The cooling solution... This laptop has a CPU and GPU and has only 1 small intake fan for the both of them. I recommend NEVER placing this on a surface that would block the airflow from the bottom. Do not put on bed, or other cloth surface. Invest in a cooling pad if you plan on gaming much.
Overall Review: I'm not a fan of laptops at all. They are expensive, and significantly slower than their equivalent desktop counterparts . For on-the-go gaming I usually bring my mini desktop because it fits in my bag just fine and most hotels have TV's with HDMI input. I got this laptop to replace said desktop. At first I was thinking, "oh boy, now I have a slower-than-snails computer", but boy was I wrong! I didn't want to break the bank and get a gaming laptop, and didn't want to NOT game on the go, so this thing is PERFECT. 5 eggs all day, I'd give it a 6th egg if I could! I did swap out the HDD with an SSD and added 4 more GB of RAM, so I'm a happy camper :)
disappointed
Pros: Obviously the price is the biggest pro. Literally the cheapest quad-core on the market. On Passmark websites, benchmark scores were higher than that of a phenom ii x4 955. But then I did some reading about this thing called "lab burst mode"... Apparently, this mode allows for users to achieve an overclock of 4.4 Ghz on stock voltage. :-l Impossible. Using "lab burst mode", the motherboard slows the real time clock so you can achieve higher scores in benchmarks. Not real scores, because its not real performance. So all the benchmarks for this CPU is complete hosh posh. Take that "lab burst mode" into a game and lag like all hell. The real benchmarks for this cpu hangs roughly around 3900 CPU MARK. Sad.. because I got a higher score on an athlon ii x2 240.
Cons: Does not overclock well. Was able to achieve 2.9 stable using a cooler master hyper 212. Stock HSF was dead on arrival. Misleading online benchmarks. Performs equivelent to a med-high end dual core.
Overall Review: Make sure if you end up buying this chip to get a socket FM1 motherboard. Many people just assume this is an AM3.
C'mon, Just get it already
Pros: cool quiet works well
Cons: backplate cheap
Overall Review: better than hyper 212. barely installation is easier than hyper 212 I have bought 2 of these. both running great
Groovy Colors
Pros: Responsive wheel Ergonomic design Doesn't get too sticky (from constant cereal mess) HD display(ish) The sounds make you actually feel the car, and the vibes Built in shift knob has more than 1 gear(s)
Cons: not compatible with DiRT Rally price.... it's a little high
Overall Review: I bought it for my son, and he immediately didn't like the gift. He played with it for about a minute. :( I guess 17 year olds don't realize how fun this really is! Then I started playing with it and its a blast! I couldn't find the included cable to attach to PC so I just super glued a USB cable to the back. In most games it's completely unresponsive. The devs should have put more effort in the software, however the hardware seems sound. In Watch Dogs, I can drive the car a bit (well at least I think I can, the game's graphics are that bad). All in all a decent product, probably will enjoy many more hours.
Cool looking. Poor Tracking
Pros: It looks cool. has red LEDs
Cons: doesnt contour well to my hand. Isn't very accurate, especially in games. If you want an inexpensive mouse, try Logitech instead.
Overall Review: Also has a rather short usb cable
Decent little thing :)
Pros: Price is a Huge one! The build quality is good, feels sturdy enough. Didnt have any bloatware preinstalled :) Wifi range is incredible. Better than my computer! Coworkers are jealous when their phones cant get anything and im rockin 2 bars. The camera is good for skype and self shots. Front camera only which is preferred IMO. The size is perfect, it can fit in my cargo pocket but still big enough to share videos in a group. The touchscreen is great as well. I can touch 5 things same time :)
Cons: The tablet could be a little bit faster. Make sure you are running 1 process at a time and youre golden. Theres no bluetooth. The power cord is very specific so dont lose it! Some fonts overlap but now im just nit picking.
Overall Review: Great for a gift, perfect for android test platform. Better for skyping than ipad due to it weighing much less/easier to hold. If youre comparing this device or others in the same price range just get this one and you wont be disappointed. No problem that it doesnt have hdmi.. only the expensive tablets utilize hdmi well. Recommend using sdcard for additional storage.
