Pros: Incredible price for a 10.1 inch windows 8 tablet. I took a risk on it being a refurbished unit but have not had any problems regarding quality. The screen has great color and the tablet handles 720p youtube videos without a hitch. Battery life is also another high point as I get around 10 hours browsing and 6 watching videos. The tablet is responsive and while it will not be of much use playing games it handles other tasks well. The build quality is surprisingly nice and seems as if it will hold up in times to come. The camera quality is decent, although it should be noted that taking shots at the max MP is only possible in 4:3 aspect ratio which I thought was odd.
Cons: Windows update to 8.1 took 11 hours. That is not a typo, eleven actual hours. At many points it would seem to lock up but given enough time it would continue updating. The one small issue I have noticed is that occasionally after pressing the power button to turn off the screen, the screen will turn back on again a few seconds after. However this is not a terrible issue and I can't complain given the price.
Other Thoughts: All in all I think this is a wonderful tablet for people that like being able to watch videos and browse the internet, but still need a true windows environment once in awhile. I got more than I expected out of this purchase.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: -Nice price/performance
-Perfect step up from gtx 650
-Compatible with Nvidia Shield
-Runs on 450watt power supply
-Stays cool and more importantly is completely quiet
Cons: None I can think of, except that I had to uninstall/reinstall the drivers twice due to games crashing. Wiping all traces of the previous install fixed it though, must have missed something the first time around.
Other Thoughts: Also got a Gigabyte motherboard and have had problems with neither. I'd like the think that they are synergizing or at the very least rocking the same blue pcb.
The thing barely fit in my case but gave me an excuse to spend time better routing my cables.
I am not sure about how well this card does overclocking but it has plenty of power at stock settings so I haven't tried yet.
Pros: -Stand is solid
-Nice colors, although blacks were horrible (see cons below)
-Comes with HDMI, VGA, and DVI cables
Cons: -Shipped in beat up Acer box with no extra newegg cover box or packing over it. When sending it back even the shipping guy at the store asked if I wanted them to put another box over it which I declined as I intended to send it back in the same way it was delivered to me.
-Blacks look extremely bad on this monitor. They are extremely grey and suffer from excessive backlight bleed throughout, although some sections of the monitor do look marginally better than other sections. I tried tweaking the settings for a couple hours, with and without lights on to see if it could be calibrated but had no luck doing so. My five year old Acer monitor has better blacks and it was even cheaper than this one which leads me to believe that Acer quality has gone down over the years.
-Black bars on each side of the monitor where screen meets bezel. I had a similar issue on an older monitor, however was able to fix it using the built in settings. However, on this monitor there are no such controls available.
Other Thoughts: All in all I would not recommend this monitor to anyone, be it for simple web surfing or gaming. I know that LCD black color reproduction is not the best compared to newer screen technology such as IPS but I had the expectation that it would at least be better than the monitor it was replacing, which it was not.READ FULL REVIEW
