This review is from: Corel Paintshop Pro X5
Pros: Powerful enough for amateur photographers. There is a fairly steep learning curve, but owning this probably means this is a hobby for you, so enjoy. It is a big enough name that the internet has plenty of How to videos to help you along.
Cons: Have used other more polished, professional, and pricier software that would save you time, but at a higher cost. I have not found anything this can not do that other editors can, but other editors are easier to use and more intuitive.
Other Thoughts: Needed a slightly more advanced editor, and remember my days of using older versions of Paintshop Pro I figured I would give it a try. It can do most anything an advanced amateur would need to do, but it is detailed, and you need to put some time in to learn it, even for simple tasks like cropping. Know what you want before buying this. If you would like to use the advanced features, like layers at a lower cost then this will fit the bill, but if you just need basic photo fixing like red eye, cropping and contrast this may be too much. If you enjoy spending time getting your photos looking their best go for it. If you just want to post photos to Facebook look elsewhere.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: It's been the only card in this camera for over a year. No issues what so ever.
Cons: Not my fastest card.
Other Thoughts: I was reviewing some other more recent purchases, when I noticed I did not review this card. I was not even sure where it was, but when I realized it was in my SX10is I was pleasantly surprised. This camera is the camera I throw o my shoulder when just going out. I often shoot a lot of pictures keeping very few, so it has been written and rewritten many times. This camera takes a lot of abuse especially now that it is older. I treat my newer gear much better. It gets put in the trunk in all weather conditions, and generally abused since it is an older, but much loved, P&S. While this may seems like a review of the camera, the card has took the heat too, literally. It looks like this card may get retired with the camera. I need to find a young person to pass this combo down to, and maybe ignite a lifelong hobby.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: The two I used have taken a lot of abuse and neither has failed yet. They roll up nicely, and that is important if you use them as I do.
Cons: None. Not sure why 7 feet but sometimes that extra foot is nice.
Other Thoughts: I normally wouldn't review patch cables, but I bought these for work and constantly abuse these. These are used on a day to day laptop use that means I connect and disconnect daily if not more. These cords then get quickly wrapped up and shoved in a laptop bag until the next day. They often get stepped on since they run from my laptop to the device I am working on, often on construction sites. These were on the cheaper side than I usually buy but they have held up fine. It is not unusual for me to go through a cable a month. Snagless comes in handy as without the hoods I often break off the tabs just handling the cables in this environment.READ FULL REVIEW
