Nice system with a SSD
Pros: The laptop has a second hard drive bay with SATA III connector. However, to install a SSD, I had to remove the SSD from the enclosure and remove plastic grid from the drive cover. With two drives, it is easy to install Windows 7 and 8 independently just by controlling boot sequence.
Cons: Why make it difficult to install a second drive.
Overall Review: I am giving it 5 stars to offset the arbitraty 1 star from the previous reviewer.
Not ReadyBoost compatible
Pros: Low cost
Cons: Does not have the required characteristics to be used for ReadyBoost on my HP G62 (Win7 x64) laptop. My old 8GB Patriot Class 6 card worked just fine for that purpose.
Overall Review: I also tried to format the SDHC card as NTFS with the same failure. Well, I just have to use it for something else.
The cheapest I can find and just works
Pros: Tool less and just works
Cons: none
Overall Review: Don't know what was the problem with a lot users here. The review at other site seems to be fine. I was afraid that 7200 rpm hard drive may require too much power but it works just fine. No problem encountered copying ~400gb data.
Could be a very good laptop
Pros: 1600x900 resolution Ultraportable Pretty
Cons: Need to get right drivers Cold be hardware problem
Overall Review: The first one I got, I got several blue screen of death just doing web browsing and other trivial tasks. Thanks to Newegg, the unit was exchanged quickly. The second one does not have hardware problem but the drivers for touchpad, usb3, and wireless are poor. Got the first two drivers from Asus web site and the wireless one through the manufacture web site. After all these trouble, I end up with a very nice ultraportable laptop with 1600x900 screen.
Very inexpensive way to upgrade memory
Pros: Double my HP G62 memory from (1+2)GB to (4+2)GB in two minutes.
Cons: None
Battery drain when the unit is off
Pros: The main Pro is the price. Like MIO C310, the GPS can be hacked to run other navigation software. The battery last for 4+ hours when fully charged.
Cons: The battery drain completely in a week unused when it was new (and a lot shorter a few months later or in the winter). The GPS is somewhat sluggish (slower CPU and slower signal pickup than MIO C310) The GPS is quite bulky.
