Great volume per price.
Pros: Huge size, Cheap
Cons: None so far, but have not owned it long at all. Aside from it being a 5 year old drive, which I knew already, and is why it was so cheap.
Overall Review: Could confuse some people that they come unformatted(at east mine did). Most drives that I have ordered came preformatted. Had to go ito management sotrage devices and format it to get it to show in the normal places. I noticed a review or two that claimed it wasn't working at all etc and have to wonder if they just didn't realize it was unformatted.
Pros: Was pretty inexpensive, worked great for about 4 months.
Cons: Recently started making a lot of noise any time i enter a dvd and reads pretty slowly.
Overall Review: I used it pretty heavily at first burning a lot of stuff to make room on hard drives, have used very little for the last month or two. Optical drives have been the hardware that i tend to have trouble with, i have had 2-3 die in the last few years so i tend to think that shortish life spans are about par for the course.
Working as intended.
Pros: Has all of the connectors I needed and more. Able to provide power beyond my needs. The price was good.
Cons: I have not found any. It powers my computer...
Returned for refund.
Pros: good price for the specs
Cons: Lots of errors in mem test, sent back for refund and ordered something specifically stated as working in my mobo. Rated as 3 stars simply because it could just be that it doesnt play well with my particular mobo.
Overall Review: Installed in an ASRock Fatal1ty B450 GAMING K4 AM4 AMD B450 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard. Installed Windows 10. First boot up after install checkdisk runs, finds problems in some old stable drives. Lose information. One drive is now unusable. Experience crashes in games, programs that wont install saying they had corrupt files etc. Tracked down the problem to likely being faulty ram. Ran memtest86, got 23 errors on two passes of 13 tests. Each stick separately ran a couple passes without errors, in either ram channel. Ran memtest on both sticks in two channel again, only got 2 errors in two passes, but that is still enough. so RMA. Hoping to recover lost data from hard drive corruptions...
M.2 slot needed
Pros: I am sure it will work and is super fast etc.
Cons: Have to have an M.2 slot.
Overall Review: I decided to upgrade both speed and size of my 120GB ssd that I have had for years. I did not realize that that the PCI-E label for these was just an indication that m.2 is a version of PCI-E or whatever. I was expecting to be able to place it in a regular PCI-E x4 (or higher) slot. No dice. Now I have to order a conversion card to use it in a mobo without an actual M.2 slot(or finally just upgrade my whole machine using a mobo with said slot)
Great price pet GB
Pros: Huge space to store stuff I should probably just delete, but hoarding is cool i guess Transfer speeds are much much better than my other external drives, and even some of my internals. Though I have several older drives.
Cons: None yet, but I have not owned it long.
Overall Review: I almost with that I had bought two. Then I could toss several older drives in a drawer, and still have a boatload of space for new stuff.
