Ninja Hate Pirates

Madworld Wii Game
Madworld Wii Game

Pros: + Style / Sin City meets No More Heroes. + Voice-acting / It's hard to believe this was made in Japan. +Commentators / Greg Proops and Jon Dimaggio(Bender from Futurama) make this game worth every penny. + Hilarious / No game is as consistently hilarious as this one. For example, in the "Asian Town" stage, you can throw a Pirate Hat that the ninja will immediately run after and attack, distracting them long enough for you to get the upper hand, 'cause we know: Ninja Hate Pirates. +Soundtrack / I don't like rap, but it works perfectly here. I catch myself singing some of the songs when I'm just wandering around the house. + Controls / Most motion controls are great when they have specific motions (see Cons) +Bosses / Big, bad, and brutal.

Cons: - Short / Only a few hours long, but highly replayable to me. - Control / Too many instances of "shake like crazy!" - Lock-on / doesn't work well, but really is unnecessary. - Some dialogue repeats often, but it's still funny every time.

Overall Review: MADWORLD is not for everybody (especially kids and religious types). That being said, it's my personal Game Of The Year, due mostly to it's amazing style and that fact that it's the most legitimately funny game I've ever played. The commentators are laugh-out-loud funny, crude and pun-filled. The level of gore and violence is also a major stand-out here, but it's not the kind based in reality. I personally hate realistically violent games like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto, but MADWORLD takes a totally different, humorous approach. You aren't killing cops or soldiers with real life weapons... you have a chainsaw mounted on your arm to take out zombies, robots, a giant Frankenstein monster, loads of ninja, and werewolves. And when you aren't cutting these in half, you are running over gray space aliens on your motorcycle. If you aren't put off by over-the-top comedy-gore and as long as you don't mind adult oriented humor and foul-language, then you can't get much better.
