Cooler Master NotePal A200 - Ultra Slim Laptop Cooling Pad with Dual 140 mm Fans and Aluminum Surface
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Cold metal mesh of a high quality. Large open holes for air pushed by the fan to flow into the laptop. Sturdy plastic underbottom, sturdy leg supports. Extra USB slot if taking into account one is being used by the computer/cooling system. Ability to change the fan speed. USB Mini power cord has generous length. noise is only a soft wooshing sound

Cons: Some "chopper" noises as the fan blades are acting like a helicopter. Not very noticeable but if you notice things like that are aggravating simply change the speed and the "chopper effect" will go away.

Other Thoughts: Hp pavillion g6 series
Win 7 64 OS
AMD A-6 dual core 2.7 ghz
8 gb ram
Standard 750 gb hard drive 7200 rpm

Moderate to heavy gaming and with a computer that has a very happy little fan that will rev up at the slightest opening of an application. With this cooling pad at low to medium setting and the HP CoolSense option turned off of the machine, i can put the processor at full 2.7 ghz and run games such as CoD Ghosts, Warframe, WoW (if you're into that) all at good/high settings without the computer turning on the on board fan.

other thoughts: i noticed that the resonance between the cooling pad and the computer fan can create an offset in frequency so the whole set up can actually be quieter just set the cool pad at just the right setting.
