This review is from: NETGEAR R8000-100NAS Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Gigabit Wireless Router
Pros: Easy set up, worked with my Verizon FIOS fibre-optic ethernet connection right out of the box. Fantastic and user-friendly GUI to work in. Lightning-fast wireless speed with multi-5ghz connections bonded together. Worked right out of the box.
Cons: Huge and expensive. So what? If you want the best, this is it.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Unfortunately, none. Could never connect the wan port to my Verizon FIOS fiber service. The unit ONLY recognized dhcp from modem device and their instructions always included this. You don't have to have a device on Verizon FIOS, you just need a router that understands the latest technology.
Cons: My Verizion FIOS (fibre optical) does not have a router or a modem. It has as fibre box and an ethernet cable that is provisioned to serve a public IP. The 2400 could not connect. Tried 2 different units. No good. Called Asus support and their solution at first was to upgrade firmware. When that did not work, they stopped offering solutions and just gave me a phone number. Instead, I exchanged the Asus for a Netgear R8000 and it connected in 1 second.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: APEVIA Black SECC Steel / Aluminum X-MASTER-BK/500 ATX Media Center / HTPC Case
Pros: Fairly easy to work with. Inexpensive desktop in an arena where desktops are a vanishing breed. Two hard drive bays worked well.
Cons: Top DVD door did not line up with standard DVD burner, so had to remove cover and DVD was sunk in front 1". ATX board I used barely fit. Cheaply made, lots of sharp edges.
Other Thoughts: Only game in town. If inwin brought back their desktop, this wouldn't stand a chance. It's cheaply made, but it did the trick for me. I bought 2 and built two machines and they are working fine.READ FULL REVIEW
