Pros: This one was purchased as a replacement for a Linksys E4500 which was a replacement for a Linksys E3000. It came with a older version firmware. I upgraded it to stock firmware 270 and it has been running solid for a couple of weeks. Have yet tried the Merlin custom firmware. I can connect to it two houses down from across the street. My wireless bridge has been clocking 240Mbps to 300Mbps on the 5GHz channel and this is the highest ever on a number of n routers I tried.
Cons: Price was a little bit higher than I would like to pay but again you get what you pay for.
Other Thoughts: The GUI and options in the set up pages have less feature than that of DD-WRT or Merlin. I was expecting the familiar features and tweaks I found in DD-WRT. I hope ASUS will enhance the GUI in future releases.READ FULL REVIEW

Cons: None from the hardware. Just wished The drive comes with the instructions on how to install in Windows 7/8.READ FULL REVIEW
