This review is from: Coby 1.8" Black 4GB Video MP3 Player MP620-4GBLK
Pros: Small sleek device that is easy to carry while running. Very light, internal radio works well.
Supports the ability to use it like a flash drive, in other words you can navigate to your music files and simply copy and paste them into the directory on the device. Avoiding windows media player or the coby media manager on the device.
Cons: MADE IN CHINA
I'm not sure exactly why it happened but the first time I went running with the device it turned off in my pocket twice, while the keys were locked. I haven't had the same problem again yet but I do not keep it in my pocket anymore.
Although the device says it can store a playlist, this is entirely untrue. Using windows media player and sending the playlist to the device will add the songs to the mp3 player, but will not create a playlist. The product manual packaged with the device gives no information on creating a playlist. Using the coby media manager software which is included on the device and is the suggested method of creating a playlist according to the readme also installed on the device, does the same thing, and does not create a playlist. When you go to each song individually on the device, you can press the menu key and it displays the option to send to playlist, this option does not work, and is buried so deep it would be a waste of time if it did.
Other Thoughts: If you are looking for something similar to an ipod shuffle with a radio and a screen to select the next song, this could be the device for you.
If you are looking for a multi purpose device to carry your music for running, walking, and riding in the car, or if you separate your music according to the mood your in, this is probably not the device you are looking for.
Pros: Windows 7 beats vista any day of the week. When I plug an internet cable into the computer it actually connects without me having to reset the connection! (my vista computer ftl)
The scroll bar on the touchpad(mousepad) works as well, can't say that about my older computer currently, But when it was new that piece worked as well.
Big display! Cant wait to use it :D
Cons: The amount of stuff already installed out of the box is disgusting. I've already spent the last 45 minutes pressing the uninstall button over and over again.
I don't mind some things being on there, like skype for example. But when I have (a long list of stuff I had to remove due to review guidelines)
And this isn't all! I've already forgotten most of the junk I've taken off. I do remember that I took off everything in the welcome center, then removed the welcome center because it was useless.
The touchpad (mousepad or whatever you call it) features a single bar as both mouse buttons, so you must press down on the far edge in order for it to click. Annoying if you are used to a computer that has two separate buttons.
Other Thoughts: Since my vista computer currently fails some hardware tests (I got mad and bought this acer, then got my comp to work while it was in shipping), I noticed that it doesn't display which key to press during startup to open the diagnostic tools.READ FULL REVIEW
