GIGABYTE GV-N680OC-2GD GeForce GTX 680 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: It's sad because the card itself was great.

Cons: I got the card despite the bad comments on the flimsy cheap windforce fan. I plugged it in all excited to find the last fan (3rd from the front) wouldn't spin. I spent all afternoon trying to get it to spin but it wouldn't. I even tried stress testing it thinking maybe if it got hot enough, the card would detect the heat and kick on the third fan but no luck.

Other Thoughts: Great card, cheap lame windforce fan.

5 out of 5 eggs Biostar is amazing!! 08/31/2011

This review is from: BIOSTAR TA870U3+ AM3 AMD 870 6 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: This board does everything it advertises.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I had never used a Biostar product before because I've always stuck with brand names like MSI and Asus. Now that I have a Biostar board, I don't think I'll go back to the other brands. I took a risk going with an unknown brand but it paid off. The BIOS was very easy to navigate and I overclocked my memory to 1600MHz instead of 1333MHz and it works great.

If you go to their website, you can download the MB/BIOS manuals and learn how to overclock stuff and unlock cores before you buy it.

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 6-Core 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W HDT90ZFBGRBOX Desktop Processor
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Inexpensive for what you're getting. The chip runs all 6 cores like a champ, very good processor.

Cons: The stock cooling fan is junk. First off when I tried to mount it and I turned the tab to fasten it down, it simply broke off and now I can't get the fan off, it's stuck to my motherboard. Junk...

Whenever I play video games and the processor heats up, the fan sounds like a jet engine trying to take off. It overpowers my headphones.

Other Thoughts: Great processor, horrible fan! I would plan on purchasing an aftermarket fan with this purchase (recommend a Zalman fan).
