Easy driver install, Lower performance

ASUS Radeon HD 4650 1GB DDR2 AGP 8X Video Card AH4650/DI/1GD2
ASUS Radeon HD 4650 1GB DDR2 AGP 8X Video Card AH4650/DI/1GD2

Pros: The easiest to install card from all AGP 3x-4x series Radeon cards on newegg (or anywhere), considering the HIS card reviews listed! ASUS vga drivers (CCC, ati drivers, etc) installed without a hitch, remember to uninstall old drivers first. I was scared off the HIS higher end cards on newegg due to the reviews! (50% 3 and under, driver issues). Card fits into my microATX board and Thermaltake lanbox no problem, takes up 2 slots of space, and runs great on an OCZ 550W PSU. VGA and DVI out very helpful for older system compatibility. 12V molex power needed is also compatible with older power connectors.

Cons: I seem to have lost AC97 audio - but that's common, have to check device manager to disable all ati sound devices ticked with the yellow ? Dissapointed with low sisoft sandra lite gpu benchmarks, the 3850 reference card squeaks in slightly higher, and 3dMARK05 (only directX9 i know) is low at just under 4k. But, this is a lower end card. I'm gonna wait it out for 1-2 years more to get a 5870 cheap.

Overall Review: Good card for $100, but having a 3Dmark score only mildly better than the nvidia 7900 GS it replaced is a somber reminder why we all need to go core i7 and PCI-E.

MSI=Mediocre

MSI X58M LGA 1366 Intel X58 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI X58M LGA 1366 Intel X58 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Thought the board was a good value, had the standard x58m specs (SATA 1-6, with raid, 24Mb max ram with triple data rate config, board start button, decent ddr3 ram settings (yes, 1333 works fine)). Also only 1 of 2 microATX LGA 1366 boards with intel x58 chipset on newegg...

Cons: It burned out after 1 week. Yes, my small footprint thermaltake box ran hot, but the i7 930 didn't, so there's not excuse for this. By the time i troubleshot this (after buying a new cpu AND gpu that i don't need!), my newegg 30 day return time was over.

Overall Review: MSI support? online they told me 'to return it to the reseller" despite the simple fact newegg wouldn't accept the return after 30 days. I now have a $170 piece of junk that will go in the trash. My new ASUS rampage gene II is amazing, buy that instead!
