This review is from: Transporter Private Cloud 0TB - Gigabit Ethernet NAS
Pros: This is the most innovative product of it's type. When I first heard about it I bought it. That was 1 year ago. I have 4 - TB drives now. I started with 1-300, 1-80 & 1-250. Then added from there. If you've got SATA drives laying around this is perfect. I currently have 500+ DVD ISO's stored on it and transport it from work to home every Friday. HD rip's will stream from this across a Gig network as long as the box playing them is fast enough (Core2Duo). I have lost a TB drive already, replaced it and still watched movies across a network while it was rebuilding.
Cons: There is no handle on the unit to make it easy to carry.
If you have A LOT of data, 2+ TB, and you add a drive it's gonna take about 60 hours before you can shut down you device.
GigE on board and it would be perfect.
Other Thoughts: I have recommended this to everyone I know. Pictures, music, movies, documents. Personal use, business use. It a wonderful product and does so much more than a RAID device ever could. Data Robotics give us NAS via GigE and I'll buy 2 moreREAD FULL REVIEW
