Pros: I purchased this hard drive in November 2008, and six and a half years later it is still serving me well with zero issues. Although I've since upgraded to an SSD for my OS drive, this continues to serve me well as a data drive. WD, you have created a great product that has stood the test of time with this one.
Cons: Absolutely none.
Other Thoughts: I remember way back when, an IBM IDE 8GB hard drive cost around $900, and I had it replaced under warranty 5 times; then an IBM 20GB replaced 3 times. After the 3rd 20GB failure I bought a 37GB Maxtor which gave me zero issues. I later sold the maxtor after upgrading to a 120GB WD when SATA came around; I then added another 250GB WD years later for more space. Neither WD drive gave me troubles, I am certain I would still be using them if I had not lost them in a house fire. This 1TB WD has been a fitting replacement for both drives, and I would recommend a WD drive to anyone.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ASUS P8Z77-V LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: So far performance has been great, and I have had no stability issues with windows 7 x64.
Cons: It was a little bit fussy when I first installed it. I think I've just been lucky with all the systems I've built since around 1999-2000 have had no problems starting and installing windows with all components installed.
With this board, I had to start with only essentials, one DVD drive, graphics card, singe hdd, and one dimm of ram before it would boot. After that I had to add each component individually but had no further problems.
Since this shouldn't be unexpected when building a system, I'm not going to knock an egg off. I was a bit annoyed, but I think I've just been spoiled with easy set up of most every other system I've built since the turn of the century.
Other Thoughts: I've been using Asus boards since building my first system around late 1999 with an Athlon 750Mhz cpu, and I have never had any problems that I could attribute to the motherboard. I've also used their graphics cards in some builds and they were also great. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Asus products to anyone.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Fast is about the only way I can describe this drive. I have another machine with a 15k SAS raid setup, and this drive beats it hands down. I haven't had any problems with it either, so reliability seems great too.
Other Thoughts: Would definately recommend this drive.READ FULL REVIEW
