Pros: Extremely fast. Gets ~140mb/s single drive, and ~280mb/s with 2 in RAID0, with the ext4 filesystem and linux software raid.
These drives are also thin; due to being single plattered.
Cons: Makes a couple odd noises, but I think seagate drives often do.
Other Thoughts: Would love to put 4 together in raid 0....READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Has a bios so I can boot off of a cd drive attached to it. I also like how it is low profile and short. Works out of the box with linux, required drivers from a usb for vista to install.
Cons: This card was a bottleneck for my harddrives. I saw ~20mb/s DECREASE in speed for single drive performance and ~80mb/s DECREASE in RAID0 performance compared to the motherboard's native controller and linux software raid.
The onboard raid controller was not able to set up a raid0 properly. I used the onboard bios to make a 100gb raid0, and instead of making a 50gb partition on each drive and striping, it decided to make one partition on one drive, giving no performance gain.
Other Thoughts: Not impressed...would not buy another. I learned that if you want a good sata addin card, you're gonna need pci-e x4 not x1.READ FULL REVIEW
