Pros: Very fast drive, even on Sata II. My computer boots extremely quickly and launching programs takes no time at all. With my old HDD I had to wait 2 minutes to use photoshop. Now it's 5 seconds. I get a Windows Experience Index score of 7.8 with this drive on Sata II. I'm sure if I had Sata III it would be even better.
Cons: It'd be nicer if these were cheaper, but still $200 is pretty good for this drive I thought.
It would be nice if it came with a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter but that's a minor complaint. I really wish it came with screws though as my adapter DID NOT come with screws either so it took awhile to find the perfect screw to make it work (I had an old laptop that I stole them from).
Also wouldn't kill them to toss in a SATA cable. I have them, but they are in a box buried in the back of a closet. I can't see a SATA cable costing that much that one can't be included. Even my new SATA blu-ray burner came with one.
All said, these are trivial complaints and certainly NOTHING to make me regret buying this drive.
Other Thoughts: Make sure when you install this, you verify that your BIOS is set as AHCI BEFORE you install Windows. Otherwise it's a pain to get it switched later. I lucked out in that I thought I was activating AHCI for my drive, but it was the setting for an auxiliary sata controller. Windows, however, detected the AHCI controller and had installed drivers on the initial setup. When I realized my mistake (Samsung Magician will tell you if it's in AHCI mode) I went back into BIOS and got it corrected. When I rebooted, Windows installed the correct drivers and asked me to reboot. I have heard thta this is not usually the case. Usually you will end up with a BSOD on startup. After rebooting my Windows Experience Index score went from 7.2 to 7.8 for the hard drive (not much, but any bit helps)
So far I am very pleased with this drive and definitely recommend it to everyone looking for a speed increase in their computer. I am planning on purchasing a few more to upgrade my wife's laptop and my parent's computer.
Pros: Big, rotates
Cons: Everything else. Displayport connection flickers in & out. Tried multiple cables. 1st unit RMAed due to stuck pixels. 2nd unit worse than first but Newegg says I am out of the window to RMA the second unit.
Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor to replace an older viewsonic monitor that lasted forever. Their quality now is garbage. Never again will I buy a Viewsonic monitor.READ FULL REVIEW
