This review is from: 6.5F 2M Apple 8 Pin Lightning to USB Data Sync & Charge Round Cable for iOS6 – iOS7.1 for iPhone 5 5S 5C iPad 4 Mini Air New Mini 2 with Retina Display iPod Touch 5G 5 iPod Nano 7 7G Generation -OEM
Pros: Long, cheap lightning cable. Legit, looks good. Comes with a little Velcro cable organizer, nice bonus!
Cons: None for now!
Other Thoughts: Newegg said to expect a 5-15 day shipping, and I assumed it would be more around 15 with this coming from Hong Kong and all. Boy was I wrong. This baby hit my mailbox right at the 5 day mark, I'm really impressed at how quick it got here!READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: LifeProof fre Black Case For iPhone 5 1301-01
Pros: I'm not sure what the other reviewer's problem is.
I am an infantryman in the US Marines and I chose this case because I wanted to take my phone out to the field and on deployment with us so I could snap pictures and not worry about my phone getting damaged. It worked fantastic. I was not easy on my phone, we hiked through jungles in Austrailia, conducted raids on other ships, and even swam around in the Pacific practicing raids with our CRRCs (the little rubber boats), and my phone was never damaged. I kept it in my pocket the whole time, even when we were doing our boat course and we were constantly in the water. I've dropped it several times, no damage or scratching to the phone. The case is a champ.
Cons: I will say that it does kill the sound a bit when trying to listen through a speaker, which I don't like to do much anyway. It's a tad bit muddy and the volume is dampened a bit.
A minor annoyance, but a neccesary one for what the case provides, is the way you plug in headphones. There is a part that you screw in to the headphone hole in the case to keep it "lifeproof." You have to unscrew it to plug in headphones. You can plug the standard iPhone headphones in without the adapter, but this isn't waterproof. If you want to plug in any other headphones and/or you want to keep your phone lifeproofed, you have to screw in the provided adapter.
I knew what I was purchasing, and I understood this was nessecary to keep my phone protected, so it was never really a con for me, but I did lose the screw a couple times, I must admit. There is a little keeper on the adapter wire, but it fell off... So just be aware of that.
Other Thoughts: Great case, does it's job, and I'm pretty sure Lifeproof insures your phone from water damage now. That's how confident they are in their product, and I have to say it's well worth getting if you are consistently active with your phone.
Again, I am a Marine that has taken my phone on every field op since February, and our most recent deployment for the last six months, and had it in my pocket all along, through hikes, raids, boat courses in the Pacific... and I still have my phone, undamaged, with pictures to tell the tale. I highly recommend it.
Pros: Worked well for a few weeks.
Cons: Has just started shorting out after owning around a month. Bummer =/ You could probably make it last longer if you are super gentle with it every time you use it... but being in the Marines, that's not an option for me. It's not like I was crazy with it, it went through normal use.
Also tired of just having 3ft... 6ft would be ideal.
Other Thoughts: iPhone 5 accessories are still new... wait until a known brand comes out with a cable.READ FULL REVIEW
