This review is from: EDIMAX BR-6258n IEEE 802.11b/g/n Wireless Nano Size Multi-purpose Travel Router/ Range Extender/ Universal Adapter, Small Size Easy To Carry, iQ-Setup for Hassel Free Installation, and Power Fed by PC/Laptop USB port Supported
Pros: Small, easy setup and that is all
Cons: It was configured as range extender, works good for about 30 min and lost connection with LAN. Tried reset to default setting by pushing Reset/\ button. No avail. No computer can connect with router using LAN port and Ethernet cable.
Now it is only a small red brick. Will RMA it.
Other Thoughts: I will give Edimax one more try because I have good experience with its other wireless products.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: This enclosure works well with my SATA drives 1TB, 2TB Samsung and Seagate both. Support USB3.0 and eSATA connections. Small problem that I had was rattled fan. Rosewill sent me new one to replace broken.
Cons: But I got biggest problem with this enclosure when I bought a new ASUS RT-AC68 router. This router has USB 3 and USB 2 slots that work with any of my USB sticks, with WD MYBOOK with no problems. But no work with this enclosure.
Rosewill customer service stated that this is their hardware limitation. AsMedia chipset of the enclosure doesn't work with ASUS controller.
Other Thoughts: Rosewill must show this limitation in enclosure specification and doesn't confuse customers.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Edimax BR-6478AC Dual-Band AC1200 Router / Extender / AP 3-in-1 Smart Device, Provides Simultaneous 2.4GHz & 5GHz with Gigabit Ports for Faster Connectivity, Features iQ-Setup for Easy Installation via Smartphone/Tablet
Pros: Price in this class of routers.
Very simple setup, You can use inbuilt setup wizard or do it manually. Both setup are good.
I have 2 of them in my networks used as wireless routers with Cable Internet provider. Both network have 2.4 and 5 GHz band with TV. PC, laptops, wireless printers, Roku and Macbook as wireless and wired clients. Routers work about 1.5 month and never dropped connection or requested restart.
Cons: No for a while.
Other Thoughts: This routers replaced 2 TP-Link Archer C7 AC1750 that have many problems with dropping connections and 5Ghz band without any hope to fix it.
These little Edimax routers have a not so good range and don't have USB ports but they give you very reliable basic functions for small business and simple home network.
