This review is from: Polk Audio CS1 Series II Center Channel Speaker (Black) Single
Pros: - Great sound. Accurate, open and spacious
- Goes very well with the monitor 60's in the front.
Cons: - None whatsoever. These are big - but then we want great sound. That is why we go for the CS1 anyways.
Other Thoughts: I got monitor 60's first. I liked them so much that i got the CS1 as well. The monitor 60's and CS1 together make great front speakers. Accurate sound that is open and spacious - just as Polk claims. I replaced the Onkyo 520 center channel speaker. The Onkyo and Polk are from two different worlds.
If you decide to go for the CS1, you will not regret it even for a moment.
You need to give the CS1 two weeks+ to break in. Once these break in, the sound open up even more. You will enjoy your music.
And, thanks to Newegg for such great deals as well!
This review is from: Polk Audio Monitor60 Series II Floorstanding Loudspeaker (Black) Single
Pros: - Crystal clear sound
- Open and spacious - just as Polk claims
- Smooth, true and warm with beautiful mid and highs - ideal for music
- Overall, the sound is exceptionally well balanced and accurate.
- Great looking speakers and they are front ported.
Cons: - There are no cons whatsoever
Other Thoughts: I would just be repeating all the good comments made by previous reviewers. These speakers made a world of difference. I am enjoying my music collection like never before. I can hear all those subtle tones and echoes. The sound is very clear and accurate - as if the singer and the band is right there.
These speakers are great for music and do just as well for home theater. If you are primarily intending movies, there is greater selection out there. If you like music, monitor series is the way to go.
I replaced Onkyo SKF 520's. The two speakers are worlds apart. Its almost surreal.
I liked my monitor 60's so much that I decided to replace the Onkyo center channel speaker and I ordered a CS1. I can assure you that the CS1 is another fantastic product as well. Both of them sounded great from the start. Just as other reviewers have mentioned, these do take two weeks+ to break in. Once they break in, the sound truly opens up. You will like what you hear even more.
With the monitor 60's and the CS1 up in the front, I am having a great time.
I will get the monitor 30's for the rear when they are on sale for sure.
I am a Polk guy now.
