Fast as a speeding bullet
Pros: That thing you call lag? Well its a thing of the past when you use an SSD. I am amazed at the difference between a spinning disk and solid state memory. I have been using computers for almost 20 years and have never seen such a significant performance increase. Spinning hard-drives are holding computer technology back. Solid State is the future. Everything is so speedy and snappy with no seek times. You can do many things at once with no lag. Your processor and ram can actually work to their full potential!
Cons: A note to hard core computer users. It seems SSD needs some improvement in terms of longevity. I have worked this drive harder than any normal person would over the past few months and it is still going strong BUT I already have 2 damaged sectors. I suspect these drives last 1-2 years under heavy duty use. Luckily Intel has a 3 year warranty.
Overall Review: Amazing speed, best upgrade you can do to any machine. If you are a heavy duty computer user keep in mind you might burn the thing out so keep that warranty handy. I am very happy with my purchase and will never go back to a spinning platter disc again!
Good for Backups
Pros: - 6TB in a single drive for <$300 - Good drive for backing up data
Cons: - Surprisingly slow, you well notice it especially when coming out of idle to access. - Runs very hot, first drive I have ever owned that ran at 52 degrees, cooling might be an issue for some. - The programs I use to access smart info/monitor/benchmark ect are acting up with this drive
Overall Review: This drive feels like a prototype and the 6TB tech was not ready for prime-time just yet. It looks like they used every single nanometer of space to fit 6TB in 3.5 inch form. Even though I am a WD guy I own 3 of these drives in the 4TB version and was surprised how good they were, they are still running fine after years. This drive however I am not sure how long it will last. I would NOT recommend using this drive as a main drive, or for a media server or anything other than to backup your files to and let it sit. Luckily I bought this drive just for that purpose to backup 6TB of data.
Great Screen Faulty DisplayPort
Pros: Great 27 inch Monitor, awesome response time and good color ratios. Also very bright and clear.
Cons: Through buying 2 different DisplayPort Cables I have come to realize that the DisplayPort Port on the Monitor is faulty and emits a pulsating noise none stop unless the monitor sound is muted though the picture is fine. Instead of going through the hassle of return shipping a monitor im stuck using the HDMI Port.
Overall Review: I Think this is my last large purchase from Newegg since it is way to much hassle to return something if it is faulty since it is a web retailer. I'd rather pay a little extra at a local store and have the option of a quick and convenient return if something is wrong. Great Monitor other than a faulty DisplayPort
Works fine
Pros: Bought this to upgrade one of the 2GB Sticks in my HP EliteBook 8540p. Works fine, no errors.
Cons: A bit pricey but that's to be expected for 4GB on one stick, cheaper than some other companies.
Overall Review: Happy with purchase, compatible with HP EliteBook 8540p and windows 7. Runs fine, no errors during testing.
Cheap but LOUD!
Pros: Price. I waited for these 2TB to drop in price, and it finally has. You can now snag a 2TB drive for a reasonable price.
Cons: LOUD! Oh my! I am running 4 Hard Drives here and this drive easily drowns them out with its noise. All I can hear is click click clack spin spin. I have never had a drive this loud, its about 10x louder than any 7200rpm drive ive owned. Another con is its made in China, the land known for quality merchandise.
Overall Review: I'm happy it has not died in the 3 days ive owned it. It is moderately priced but loud.
