This review is from: SAMSUNG USB 2.0 Slim External DVD Writer Model SE-208AB/TSBS
Pros: Easy install (Vista 64 SP1). I simply plugged it in and the drivers loaded.
Decent performance overall.
Cons: The hub is a bit stiff and it required a bit more force to seat a CD. It has loosened up, but it is still stiffer than other portables I have used.
Other Thoughts: It would have been nice if the cable were about 2' longer. (Isn't it always)
For the price it's a nice external drive that functions well. So far it works well and meets my expectations.
This review is from: SiliconDust - HDHomeRun Network-based Dual Digital - HDTV Tuner Ethernet Interface
Pros: Tunes all the channels the QAM tuner in my TV does. This is the first product that I've tried that does that with Comcast in my region. (Everett WA).
Cons: The guide in Media Center doesn't populate for all the channels, though I have to wonder if that's not Microsoft's responsibility.
Other Thoughts: It takes a bit to get the channels set the way you want them. Make sure you update the configuration tool, which makes it a fair bit easier. Other than that I've got no complaints.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600 ATSC/ClearQAM/NTSC TV Tuner PCI w/Remote 1178 PCI Interface
Pros: The analog part worked well.
Cons: Will not tune Comcast Clear QAM, even though my TV does without a PC card.
Other Thoughts: I'm buying a SiliconDust HDHomeRun to replace this with since Hauppauge support is useless. My advice to those looking at this card, find a different one. I've fought with this for hours with different drivers and it will not see the digital channels. Hauppauge support is a joke, and you may as well ask the wall since you will get the same reply (NONE).READ FULL REVIEW
