Crucial 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model CT51264BF160BJ
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Works with out issue in a Synology DS1515+ NAS.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking ot upgrade any Synology NAS with an Intel BarTrail class CPU in it. This memory will work for you. Though I didn't see any performance increase in the NAS when I maxxed the memory out. It is nice to know I have it there just incase.

Crucial MX200 CT500MX200SSD3 mSATA 500GB SATA 6Gbps (SATA III) Micron 16nm MLC NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Cheap, Fast and works.

Cons: Not the fast mSATA SSD out there but for it is used for. It works great.

Other Thoughts: This SSD has been functioing with out issue in a Gigabyte Brix i3-4010 NUC PC for over a month. Performance is solid and makes the that little PC quite useful having Approx ~ 500GB of space in it.

WD Red WD50EFRX 5TB IntelliPower 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5

  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Great drives for NAS use. They are quite, cool and perform very well. This version of the RED Drives run at 5900 rpm instead of 5400 which gives them a little more performance over the previous models.

Cons: They are not the fastest SATA drivers available but its a trade off of performance to be quite and cool.

Other Thoughts: I have five of these drives in a Synology DS1515+ in RAID 5 for a total 19TB storage. I have several iSCSI LUNs attached as well as several media devices in the house using Plex to watch movies stored on it. Not once has these drives performance ever been less than great. I have been very happy with these drives and will use them again in future projects.
