Enzotech FNP Water Cooler
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

3 out of 5 eggs What is the OD of this fitting? 06/12/2012

This review is from: Enzotech FNP Water Cooler

Pros: Can't say...

Cons: Can't say...

Other Thoughts: Like the title of this says, what are the specifications of this fitting? Would it fit the top of my 932 without falling through the stock opening? How about the back of it?

I can't give a higher rating for this product because I don't intend to purchase it without knowing the specifications. Would love to give Enzotech a better rating because I do own Enzotech fittings and they're all quality through and through. But there is a reason for the specification section. So people like me can make an informed purchase.

C'mon Newegg I expect better from you. :/

Pros: Speedy for 1600 RAM. Power saving feature and Reasonable timings. Nice look about them fit in well with my Black and Red themed system.

Cons: Power Saving feature. If you plan to OC your CPU they can make things a bit more difficult to get a stable clock. Not much of a Con but a Con nonetheless. Heatsinks are rudimentary and cheap feeling.

...

Having used Ripjaws I'd come to expect better than what are on these. Yeah they look nice but nice isn't going to help you when your sinks a hanging on by a thread in a normal environment. You can feel them move inward when you just touch them. The heatsinks wobble. I swear I could pull them off without much effort when I hold them between my thumb and forefinger. That's not a good thing.

Other Thoughts: I've had this RAM less than a year now and while they perform well in normal conditions where you're not having to mess with your system much they're fine. But I recently had to pull my sticks and am dismayed to find that the heatsinks are rather flexible under the slightest touch. I use the PCB edges to seat my RAM so I know it's nothing I've done. This is an issue caused by heat. I'm running them on my ASUS Crosshair IV Formula and have never had them OC'ed for any real length of time. That shouldn't matter though since I have a HAF 932. Plenty of airflow. From door fan flowing across the Mainboard and plenty of airflow blowing through the front of my case from that 200 as well. Then the 200 AND a 120 in the top Exhausting as well as the 140 in the back.

For a general system that gets powered down every night I'm sure they'd be pretty reasonable. If you run 24/7 like I do, don't get this RAM. I got it to upgrade from 4x2 to 2x8. Can't say I'm happy with them at this point.

That shouldn't matter though since I have a case that is very good for airflow with three 200mm fans Intaking. My Ripjaws never did this. I have to say that I'm quite disappointed in this RAM due to the Heatsinks.

Don't get this RAM if your system doesn't have good airflow. I think the only reason the sinks are still on them is because I do have a case that provides a reasonable amount of cool air.
I probably wouldn't have written this review but my brother has them with same results.
