SAPPHIRE TRI-X OC 100362-2SR Radeon R9 290 4GB 512-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card

Pros: WOW.... This card is AMAZING temperature wise. I went from the original stock reference R9 290 Sapphire BF4 edition. Will admit, dogecoin mining.. Reference cooler card - 1000 / 1500 - got 875 k/h. Fan ran at 65%, temperature was 79 degrees. With the Tri-X, no tweaking to my config file for cgminer 1000 / 1500 (stock for the card is 1000 / 1300) I registered 68 degrees at only 40% fan and 900 k/h. Beautiful, now to tweak the config file for cgminer. Expecting over 900 k/h.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Reference R9 290 cooler is loud at 65% fan, Tri-X at 40% fan, I have no idea I am evening mining, AMAZING. Purrs like a kitten. Purchase this card for mining or gaming you will not be disappointed. NEVER been so happy with a GPU purchase. Tri-X came with Hynix memory, far superior to the Elpida memory on my reference R9 290 from Sapphire.

Seiki SE39UY04 39” Class 4K Ultra HD 120Hz LED TV

5 out of 5 eggs Seiki 39" 4K 01/01/2014

This review is from: Seiki SE39UY04 39” Class 4K Ultra HD 120Hz LED TV

Pros: Beautiful HD picture, outstanding actually. I am not a Video con assure, hence other people may not agree with me. Aesthetically very pleasing. Tons of inputs, 3 HDMI, coax, 2 USB, RCA, VGA. Easy to put the stand on the TV, up and running within 10 mins of opening the box.

Cons: 4K @ 30hz refresh on PC due to HDMI 1.4 limitations. HDMI 2.0 will allow 4K @ 60hz. Hopefully Seiki's HDMI controller can be updated with Firmware, if so this will be a steal for the future. I have read on forums where they have been able to increase the refresh rate at 4K, up to 45hz. Not worth knocking off an egg, but my HDMI Inputs 1 and 2 are crossed. I need to select HDMI 1 source for HDMI 2 and vice versa. They work, just a process of elimination to realize they worked. Not worth an RMA.

Other Thoughts: Netflix has stated 4K streaming this year, be curious to see if this will work. TV configuration, picture etc is very basic. There is an advanced menu accessed by selecting MENU and then pressing "0" four times. Overall this is a gamble. Its early adaptor 4K and you are getting what you pay for, mind you that is not to say this is not a wonderful product, quite to contrary. I love this TV / Monitor and for the price it can not be beat.
