Cons: Repeated drop outs
Other Thoughts: The problem I've encountered with the three Toshiba's I've owned is that they're very sensitive to low voltage and drop out when low voltage is detected. Furthermore, you have to power down and power up again to get them to come back on line. I don't have this problem with the other three brands of hard drives on this desktop. To correct the problem, place the Toshiba's on their own power bus with no other drives on the bus. This appears to fix dropouts.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Fast, big
Cons: Failed after one month; just long enough that I couldn't send it back to newegg. These drives have enjoyed one of the highest reliability ratings of the fleet. But this one, failing after only a month, shows that the new owners of HGST are deteriorating the quality of the HGST brand in favor of their house brand.
Other Thoughts: This really is sad because under their former owners, these were one of the most reliable drives out there.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Canon PGI-226BK Ink tank; Black (4546B001)
Pros: Cartridge is almost plug compatible with Canon.
Cons: As soon as you use a non-canon replacement ink tank, all of the Canon Premium content shuts off and can no longer be used. This excludes some very attractive cards, collages, and calendars. Also, when the substitute ink is used, the color never comes out the same as it does when using std Canon ink tanks.
Other Thoughts: It's unfortunate that Canon shuts down premium content with non-std ink tanks, but they're trying to insure Canon quality by being sure the color blending of their printers works the way it's intended. The MG8220 is one of the best photo printers I've ever used and its photos are excellent. The cards from Canon premium content are exquisite as well.READ FULL REVIEW
