Pros: * Price
* Solid retail packaging
* Great drives for a NAS
* 7200RPM over 5400 RPM drive
Cons: None that I have found. Too early to tell about reliability, but both drives were perfect out of the box.
Other Thoughts: I bought the HGST 4TB Deskstar NAS drives to replace 2 Western Digital RE4 1TB drives in a Qnap NAS. The RE4's have been solid, reliable drives for the past 2 years, but I wanted to max out the storage in my Qnap. The price for the WD RE4 4TB model was more than I wanted to spend. Debated the WD Red drive, but the DOA rate from the Newegg reviews seemed high. Happy with the new drives, and the Qnap online RAID expansion went perfect.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: ESXi 5.1 had no problems recognizing this card. Price was right for dual port NIC.
Cons: Originally tried to install in a Gigabyte EP45-UD3R MB, and the PC would not POST with the card in any PCI-Express slot. Installed in another PC, and the card worked fine.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: OCZ Octane OCT1-25SAT2-128G 2.5" 128GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Pros: Price, cost per gigabyte, good drive for aging laptop, decent performance.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: This was an upgrade for a Toshiba Tecra M9-S5515X. The M9 had no problems recognizing the drive. Used Apricorn EZ Gig II software to clone the old drive over to the new SSD.READ FULL REVIEW
