This review is from: NETGEAR 5 Port Gigabit Desktop Switch (GS605AV)
Pros: -Free with purchase of RT-N66U (amazing router)
-Minimal, easily hidden
Cons: -Not great if you are only hooking up desktops (see comments)
Other Thoughts: I use Wake On Lan for all my desktops. Took a lot of frustration and troubleshooting before I narrowed it down to the switch. To save energy it powers down ports that are not in use preventing magic packets from getting to the desktop. In any event, that was a failure on my part. Had I been in the market for a switch I would have ruled this out.
For gaming console, smart TV or use with desktops that you aren't trying to do WOL it is great!
Pros: Ridiculous Range; can get a strong signal while shoveling the driveway/sidewalks and mowing the lawn. Last time I was at my neighbors I could still get a decent signal throughout their house.
Stylish; this is the first router I've kept on display, I have it propped up vertically just because of how good it looks.
Feature-rich: ASUS' UI to configure this thing is very complex but very powerful.
Cons: Temperature; the other reason I keep this on display, needs to breathe.
ASUS UI: this may be too advanced for the average person due to the complexity of its UI, definitely a learning curve.
Other Thoughts: The range was advertised as quite good to begin with, but I replaced the two outside antennaes with 8" omni directional ones. Even without it, strong covereage throughout the entire house.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: NZXT FN-200RB 200mm Case cooler
Cons: Loud, like really loud. Set on low it is louder than the rest of my fans (2x 200mm, 5x 140mm) on high combined.
Other Thoughts: I love NZXT and I ended up giving this fan to a friend. It didn't fit in my Phantom with a Havik 140 heatsink (sp?). The LED version of this, I have 2 as the exhaust of my case, is significantly quieter, even on high. I recommend going with that.READ FULL REVIEW
